Who gives a New York City rat? One thing is for sure. Whoever bought this apartment is a damn fool, and could have used the money to donate to charities, and also to the less fortunate. WHY should this person who bought a $50 million condo at the PLAZA hotel donate that money to Habitats for Humanity? It's blantly obvious that person WORKED to get that kind of money, and they should be allowed to reap the fruits of their labor by buying a luxury Condo in the PLAZA! Habitats for Humanity is just another hand out for people that don't want to WORK for a living! I'm so tired of paying such high taxes to subsidize welfare, etc. so these lazy people can continue to sit on their fat asses, not work, pop out illigitimate babies and get everything for FREE while everyone else has to WORK for a living!

Kit

Comments on Plaza Sets A New York Record

$50 Million plus is a lot of money. And that much money would have done a lot of good for a lot of people. I don't begrudge someone who make enough money to afford this from buying it. While a lot of people would rather they spend their money on the poor, it is their money. Also, so many people that make this kind of money do give a nice amount to the poor. Who knows, this $50 million apartment owner could very well be filanthropic and still be able to live nicely. Let's hope this is the case.

Mike

Comments on Plaza Sets A New York Record

I wish I had a job.

jo

Comments on Plaza Sets A New York Record

geez..if i had $50 million to spend on housing, i would surely not want to live on top of and next to people. i wouldn't want to live in a (filthy) glamorous city. i think i would buy myself a nice little private island in the south pacific, hire a staff of personal chefs, trainers, etc, and hook up a satelite. never again would i be forced to see another snotty face, a bum asking for change, or a tourist. with $50 million, who needs annoying neighbors dahling?! otherwise i feel you have just wasted your $50 million for the right to say you are the biggest dummy in nyc.

sue bee

Comments on Plaza Sets A New York Record

Hi -- I'd just like to say that I've been to the Plaza when it was a hotel. I live in a nice town and for some reason every single damn apartment and condo complex in the area is packed with jobless white trash who get to live there because they receive section 8 housing! Get the projects out of my town! My family has worked hard for us to be able to live in this town, why should some drug dealing a-hole get to live here for $150 a month (which they probably pay with drug money)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so glad that the taxes which come out of my paycheck every week are allowing them to receive brand new housing while units in the same complex which are available to someone like me cost $1500 a month for a 1-bedroom! Well, there goes the neighborhood.

Jan

Comments on Plaza Sets A New York Record

I agree with a few comments, especially the last one. People who work hard and save their money should be allow to spend whatever they want on real estate. They deserve it! There are too many people taking advantage of taxpayers $$ living on Section 8, in the projects, etc. I've seen too much in my lifetime and can tell many stories.

DD

Comments on Plaza Sets A New York Record

The real fools are those who think the pissant buying the 50M condo worked hard. My father worked hard for 45 years. With little hard work I've made more in one day several times than he did in his whole life. Modern America rewards greed, not hardwork.

Robert Hillstrom
