50 Cent's Home, Estate of the Day

Today's estate in Farmington, Conn. is one of the legendary symbols of excess. Mike Tyson owned this home in the past but it currently belongs to 50 Cent, who bought it for just $4.1 million. Tyson's ex wife originally wanted $25 million and so the home was a bit of a discount considering that is has more than 50,000 square feet of space.
Fiddy is said to have spent a few million on the house but as the Real Estalker Mama mentions, it's hard to find it when looking at the photos of the place. It seems to be completely devoid of taste and personality. Sure it's got a disco the size of many homes but the overall effect is rather bland. The home has 19 bedrooms, four kitchens, a movie theater, full gym, five Jacuzzis and an indoor shooting range. The pool area is P.I.M.P. -worthy with an infinity pool and a Playboy Mansion-style grotto but the interior of the house seems to be decorated more like a businessman's hotel than a rapper's paradise. Sure the two-story lobby is lavish and there is a dining room with a Baccarat chandelier and a formal living room overlooking a one-acre koi pond, but overall, this place disappoints. It is listed at an ambitious $18.5 million. After the jump, I'm guessing the fountains are all Tyson's legacy.
UPDATE: This home is still on the market for $14.5 million.

WOW!!! THERS'S A LOT OF HATE GOING ON ABOUT 50 CRIB. I MUST SAY THE HOUSE IS VERY NICE AND THE YOUNG BROTHER MADE A GREAT INVESTMENT. IF THE HOUSE SELL FOR 2,3,4 MILL MORE THAN WHAT HE PAID FOR IT THEN HE STILL WINS. SOME OF YOU TALKING ABOUT WHAT CHARITIES 50 COULD'VE HELP. YOU GUYS HAVE NO IDEA WHAT AND WHO HE GIVES CHARITY TO. 50 HAVE THE RIGHT TO SPEND AND INVEST HIS MONEY ON WHATEVER!!! OH YEAH, IM NOT SURPRISE TO HEAR THE JERK WRITER SAY "RAPPER'S PARADISE"! SO CAN YOU PLEASE TELL US WHAT A RAPPER'S PARADISE SHOULD LOOK LIKE. AND YES THE YOUNG BROTHER IS A GREAT BUSINESS MAN!!!

Its a beautiful house!!! What is everyone making such a fuss about. If you had nothing all your life, then thru hard work were able to purchase a piece of property like this...I'm sure you would! I know damn well I would & move my whole family into! It would be our family compound. But that's just me. It is a little cold, but it just needs some love. Let that man buy & sell whatever he wants to & leave him alone!
DAMN!!!

I've found some of the comments on here completely tasteless, ignorant and borderline racist. What does a house owned by a rapper suppose to look like? In case you don't know all rappers or young black men from the inner city are not the same. This man has worked hard for every penny he has and for someone who does not know him to break him down or degrade him is completely ignorant. He bought that house because it was a good investment, he paid 4 mill for it 3 years ago and is now selling it for 18.5 million. That's genius. So what if he's a single father with 1 child, he also have a lot of relatives living there.
6. Maybe Modelling is not my calling., I should turn to a life of crime selling drugs and doing drive by shootings and getting myself stabbed and shoot at so I can become a talentless rapper in order to get myself a record deal so I can get one like this...

Your comments was so disrespectful. You obviously don't come from that world to say such ignorant things.Learn something about his life before you share your "genius" thoughts. And we all know how much talent you need to be a "Model" (also it's "Modeling" not "Modelling")I'm sure your Harvard education and limitless talents are helping the world right now.
Also for all of you who don't know, 50 cent( not Fiddy Ms.Woollard) has giving millions of dollars to charities through his G-Unity foundation and has even started a safe sex campaign by starting a condom company giving 100% of the proceeds to charity.

Also I've unlike most of the people writing negative comments have actually been to the house in '06. And those pictures are old. The house is beautiful and some rooms even have official Gucci and Versace wallpaper, a multi-million dollar recording studio, a personal helipad, and a separate 2 level in-law house and garage larger than most homes. This is just 1 of his houses, he owns a total of six, this is just the most famous.

I have did my best to exlude any bias while reading each persons comments. Personally, I feel there is some racial connotations in certain readers comments. With regard to "what a rappers house should look like" no one can answer that question because the statement from which it rooted was careless and poorly thoughtout not to mention stereotypical. Personally, I dont care much for the house. It might be nice to look at and there are many nice features, but really its just not my taste. What is the matter with saying that as opposed to making comments about the lifestyle of the owner? Rap--Leave it alone it you dont understand it. Would it be the same if Eminem or Smashing Pumpkins bought the house? Intellectuality always comes up when voicing opinions, but lets just leave it at "do you like the house or not?" People with money spend because they can, Paris Hilton, Dennis Rodman, Michael Jordan, Brad Pitt (each of whom are in mainstream headlines) but so what, if they have it, let them spend it. Personally, I think he might have bought the house because Mike Tyson owned it. Have you ever heard of people renting rooms i.e. the Lincoln suite, etc..? That might be a way as well. Look, lets not make it a racial issue, and taking shots at hip hop/rap is definitely skimming the line, its just a house people not the mason/dixon line....

In one of his latest songs, straight to the bank, or so, he says that he dont even have to rap no more an his life is made, and he've made like 80 millions or somethin... yeeeah man, i wish I colud say "Life is Made"...it sounds so good..
now i know why he said so
Rickrock May 25th 2007 8:17AM
I see there are hater. This house is the bomb. Every one have there own taste when you buy a house you are buy someone eles idea. It up to you to make the house your creation .
TRS May 24th 2007 3:49AM
Damn, it's so funny to read people's comments, knowing not one of you here can afford this house!! haha...Keep up the good work 50!! Make your money.
Tene Gray May 24th 2007 6:22AM
I agree with the 1st comment. I am so tired of folks stereotyping and categorizing people. This house is absolutely gorgeous and I am appalled at the comment stating that this house doesn't look like a rapper's house. What is a rapper's house supposed to look like? The business man, which is code word for "white man" wrote the book on beautifully decorated homes. You need to start unpacking whatever biases and assumptions you have because this way of thinking is the exact reason why race relations are what they are in this country today. We still have so much to learn and so far to go!

I agree to the fullest....so many people making comments about Fiddy's house, and are hating big time! Fiddy has the money and he bought it. Look at all the other non-rapper types that make money and waste it on whatever! I wouldn't care if the house has 32 bedrooms, 15 bathrooms, 11 kitchens or what have you....if he can buy it...good for him!! Talk about a house with no taste! Look at the Osbornes' house; now that is a house with no class...with all the skulls andwhatnot! And I don't care who wants to correct my spelling either! Do ya thang Fiddy!!
brenda May 24th 2007 7:27AM
It doesn't matter how much money you make, no one needs a home of this magnitude. That is what is wrong with this country today. IF I could afford a home worth $18 mill my money would be going to help those in need, not boosting my ego some more.

The aesthetics of the place lack a knowledge of styles in architecture and interior decor. The people who should be criticized are the designers that these folks paid good money to and trusted they were getting quality. "Nouveau Riche" clients have always had to rely on the integrety of their designers to say "no" in the face of monied requests that lack taste due to a poor knowledge of what works and is of artistic quality. No! Overblown scale ... Cape Cod ... marble ... and an aesthetically "cheap" mixture of wood and brass modern do not mix. Either the designers originally hired were stupid, or they laughed at their clients all the way to the bank.
ttbrunke May 24th 2007 8:34AM
A lot of rappers really are completely talentless and it makes me angry and horrified that they are allowed to live in material paradice. They objectify women and call them nasty names, teaching that it is okay to treat woman like dirt and peices of meat...rappers sing about women like they're something to be conquered and that having many of them at the same time is a perfectly acceptable way to treat human beings! They sing about drugs, shootings and violence. They PERPETUATE incorrect stereotypes about women and African-Americans! I haven't heard a secular rapper yet that sings about anything noble or any worthy cause whatsoever! They're getting just a temporary reward here on earth anyway for their disgusting, detestable content.

What a waste! Young men dying in Iraq & this joker buying junk like this. He should spend his money on saving black young adults into becoming good working caring citizens. Do some good with all this money!
Chet May 24th 2007 8:01AM
I think 50 cent made and excellent business deal. It may seem heavily priced, but he got this for a steal. He walked into equity on the purchase rapper or not, it appears that he is primarily a businessman.
tiggercares May 24th 2007 8:11AM
I would buy it just to turn a profit, but I must say if I made that kind of money I would like to provide houseing for poor people. Like buy an apartment building and give an apartment to each homeless person I came across, they would own their apartment so all they would have to do is find a job that will cover their food and utilities and a little tax money each year. lets face it rent in Jersey is mad crazy 1200$ and up for a 1 bedroom box(apartment) to live in, at least in North Jersey.
Felipe May 24th 2007 8:17AM
The house was built in 1985 so I'm sure Fiddy spent a lot to fixture structural issues with the home and less on the decorations/furniture. Some of the rooms have that Comfort Suites look to them (which was big in the 80’s/90’s). Just get a great painter and new furniture and your good to go!
The flooring is great, excellent indoor and outdoor pools, lake, and landscaping.
ejtule May 24th 2007 8:17AM
I am not a big fan or a fan period of 50 cent, but I do think his house is beautiful. It's really sad to see that people are still stereotype others (i.e. He's a rapper and a druggie.) You can't make that kind of assumption on someone without knowing him or anyother rappers. If you think rappers are the only ones that do crimes, then you live in a small - sheltered world.

ALTHOUGH I MAY NOT AGREE WITH THE SEXIST ,SEXUALLY DERROGATORY LYRICS OF MOST RAPPERS TODASY THERE ARE A FEW THAT HAVE LYRICS WHICH ARE VERY INFORMATIVE AND TRUE. FOR THOSE WHO ARE SPREADING THE WRONG MESSAGE THEY WILL HAVE TO ANSWER TO GOD ON JUDGEMENT DAY. FOR THOSES WHO DON'T BELIEVE SHAME ON THEM. ALSO IT IS UPO TO PARENTS TO NOT ALLOW THEIR CHILDREN TO PROMOTE THINGS THEY SEE AS DISREPECTFUL IN OR AROUND THIER HOMES. PARENTS RAISE YOUR OWN CHILDREN AND TEACH THEM BETTER. THEY HAVE TO LEARN FROM US.
