The Ponds, Estate of the Day

If the Hala Ranch is just a big out of your price range, you might want to consider The Ponds, another estate in the Aspen area. The Ponds was designed by architect Bill Poss in the early 1990s and has over 11,000 square feet of space. The home sits on a two acre site with aspen groves, a stream that flows into waterfalls and a series of private ponds. The style of the home is unashamedly lavish with log columns and stonework giving a brief nod to the fact that this is a western home. The home has five bedrooms plus a staff bedroom, a media room, workout area, outdoor pool and Jacuzzi. It is listed at $27.5 million. After the jump, arches, arches everywhere.

Mirrored ceiling in the bedroom....hmmm....does the price include the "magic fingers" bed?

It's lavish but the rawness of the spaces gives it good balance. A little too beige though. That double height window and view are nothing but stunning. This has been on the market for quite a while I think.

Lovely. The colors treat the style very nicely.
Always love a fireplace in the bedrooms. This house seems well proportioned. Flows well, everything seems very roomy without being too big. Very nice.
