Perini Navi Launches Tamsen

Perini Navi has launched their 40th vessel. Tamsen is a 52 meter ketch with a steel hull and an aluminium superstructure. The sailing yacht has 1,127 square meters of sail which are manoeuvred by 13 Perini Navi reel captive winches. There are two aluminium masts with Perini Navi carbon fiber "in-boom" furling booms. There are also two CAT C32 engines.
The yacht has a wide flying bridge with a sunbathing area and a huge spa pool. Forward of the mizzen mast there is a cosy lounge area with corner sofas and coffee tables around a curved bar. Two circular staircases lead to the sunken cockpit which is protected by a structural aluminium awning. The interior is done in teak with walnut molding. The dining room and main saloon have wraparound windows and the formal dining area offers space for up to 12 guests. There is room for 12 guests in four cabins and one full beam Owners' suite with a walk-in closet and his and her bathrooms. The eight crew are in five cabins all with private bathrooms. The yacht also has two Pascoe tenders of 7.50meter each which are semi-sunken and stored up forward on the main deck. The yacht will be delivered in June. I can't wait to see pics of her with sails up.

Wow! I came across this article while searching for Perini Navi on Google. This is pretty cool! The owners of the Tamsen are my family members, on my dad's side. I'm planning on joining them in June when the boat is released and hanging out in the Mediterranean for a month or so. It's so cool to see the boat on web blogs like this. I can't wait to finally see the boat after so long!
