This lamp, from Droog Design, is somewhere between brilliant and creepy. The Slow Glow light, which was formerly known as the fatlamp, was designed by next architects. It consists of a large bulb filled with fat. You turn on the light and as the fat heats and melts up the light gradually gets brighter. It is selling
at Unica Home for $436. They see it is as a discussion piece, the sluggish nature and the fat of the lamp perhaps representing the obesity trend. Me, I'm not quite sure what to think but I I know this is one lamp you don't want to accidentally knock over.
