Are Brad and Angelina Buying A Yacht?
A report has reached our friends over at Gadling that Brangelina is buying a ginormous Italian yacht. According to "sources," the couple have ordered a 240 ft yacht from Privilege Yard on the Mediterranean near Rome. Currently, the yard is confirming that a large order has been placed, but isn't saying whether or not it's for the famous couple. The yacht in question features a 6 suites, a swimming pool, and Helipad. Personally, I doubt the validity of this story. I think that if Brangelina was in the market for a boat, they would be looking at container ships and/or Noah's Ark to fit their ever growing family.

Is Luxist a gossip column or a blog featuring objects of desire? You should have featured the yacht and casually mention the people. You could have mentioned a rumor of certain persons buying a certain yacht and then featured the yacht. Instead you featured the people and casually mention the yacht. Stay within scope Luxist.

While this story seems to be getting a lot of coverage - http://www.buzztracker.com/category/brangelina - I have trouble believing its true. That type of purchase seems to be very of our character for them. They seem more the type to be seen in a Tam Coc boat, at least publically.

I would have to believe this is just a rumor. Even combining their income doesn't put them in the 240ft yacht ownership club, unless they're looking to sell within 5 years. The initial costs to build and then maintain a ship of that size makes the list of customers capable of owning very, very short.

I was just thinking that myself David...As wealthy as they may be, I dont think they've got a few hundred million dollars sitting around that they could casually waste on themselves.....and, as much as I dislike the both of them, I've got to believe they'd be more likely to donate money to chairty or adopt more children from the hottest boutique african nations..

I agree John, they should focus on the goods here and not on a silly couple (I hate those two), the yacht seems fantastic, but again, no pics or more comments on that. I'm reading Luxist for a long time, and for me, it's the best source for luxury goods, so, keep with the goods!

a wealthy saudi prince wanted to gift the jolie-pitts this yacht, but once it became public info they had to decline the offer. however it is common knowledge in the industry that the most a-list celebs/musicians have rich 'fans' (like Saudi princes and wealthy Russians or Armenians) who send them multi-million dollar presents and gifts all the time as tokens of their admiration. The gift of choice is usually a Gulfstream, but sometimes its things like $10M diamonds, original Picassos, real estate, etc which the celebs usually sell and the public never finds out the details.
Besides, Brad and Angie are waaaaaay to eco-savvy to even dream of purchasing a mega yacht that gobbles hundreds of thousands of gallons of gasoline a year!!!!! That money would save like 30,000 african and cambodian chillren!
