Dwayne Wade's House, Estate of the Day

The home of Miami Heat basketball star Dwayne Wade is one that I am just itching to hear your thoughts on.The massive home in the Pinecrest, Florida area puts to shame other NBA homes I have seen such as those owned by Shaquille O'Neal and Karl Malone. Like Shaq, Wade personalized his pool and like Malone, Wade went a wee bit crazy with the murals.
From the outside the nearly 12,000-square-foot French-style home seems rather sedate but once inside the six-bedroom home things get a bit Flashtastic. Wade, known as "Flash," has put a "W" inlaid in the marble floor in the entrance hall and the listing includes the furnishings, artwork and some of Mr. Wade's memorabilia. There are rooms in the home, such as the dining room that are rather elegantly decorated, there are also touches like the Spider-man-themed bathrooms and the many, many renderings of Mr. Wade, that make this a home in need of some work. The home is so idiosyncratic that you would really have to be a fan to live here and I wonder if he will have as tough a time selling as Malone did. There is also a one-bedroom guest house, pool and patio with a summer kitchen on the property. The home is listed at $8.9 million. After the jump, a monument to ego.
UPDATE: Wade has struggled to sell the home, reducing the price several times. It is now listed at $4.599 million.

What a beautiful home!! What a blessing!! I love everything about it!! I think it displays the personality of Dwayne and his interest. It suits his taste and that's what's important.

Like most people who have a lot of money, they have zero taste. This house is mundane and B-O-R-I-N-G.
AT BEST.
This ain't no crib, ESPECIALLY for $9 mil.
But THIS is:

I think the home is gorgeous. I think the murals need to go, bad for resell. There is a lot that one could do with this home, plenty of room(s) to make it your own. De-personalize the joint, and all should bode well. I would definately live in that house. An interior decorator loves to decorate, and the palatial estate here is a perfect canvas.

You guys are idiots. Not worth 8.9?
I don't know what cheap boondocks you clowns come from; but I lived in Miami, FL myself. Trust me, housing there is expensive and probably will keep getting more expensive. That house is absolutely properly priced, if not on the cheap side considering this is Dwyane Wade's crib. This place is also in Pinecrest; that neighborhood sells at a premium.
Agreed if someone were to purchase it they should just paint over the Wade mural and change the tile in the pool. But trust me, if you are looking at a house worth 8.9 million dollars, you are not going to say no because the walls because you didn't like a chandelier

If you remember the movie, Spiderman(Peter Parker) always palnts a camera on the scene so that Peter Parker can get pictures of the scene, to be sold to the newspaper he worked??? for. The camera in the childs bath is just part of the mural.

I find it funny that so many of you claim you "wouldn't want to live in this monstrosity", but I'm sure if you had the option to change out your current house with the one stipulation being that you change absolutely nothing in the house...you'd gladly jump at the chance. As for the cameras...I don't have kids, but I'm sure if I did (as someone said before), having a few cameras in places where it would be a little tougher to monitor them might not be a bad idea, especially in a house that size. I have a problem with hypocrites who always jump on the bandwagon and bash other people for their preferences. Bottom line: Wade's sacrifed alot and put in cointless hours of work to be where he is...and I personally don't give a damn how he spends his money. He earned it...so he can do what the hell he wants with it. Nuff said...

The home is beautiful! Tell me, how many of you live in anything remotely as beautiful??? Stop hating. Just as fast as he built this home and decorated it, it can be changed to suit a more NEUTRAL need. As for the boy's room, he could have asked them exactly what he wanted it to look like and delivered on that promise. How many can say that they are able to give their child his/her dream room? However distasteful it may seem to you, obviously Zaire loves it and so would your 5 year old son. Of course the artwork of Dwyane will be taken down and/or ainted over before he sells, duh!!!! Also, there are never pictures of everything in a home... so don't think you've seen it all! There are many more treasures to love in his home. Besides, he's DWADE!!!!!!!!!!!
