Dwayne Wade's House, Estate of the Day

The home of Miami Heat basketball star Dwayne Wade is one that I am just itching to hear your thoughts on.The massive home in the Pinecrest, Florida area puts to shame other NBA homes I have seen such as those owned by Shaquille O'Neal and Karl Malone. Like Shaq, Wade personalized his pool and like Malone, Wade went a wee bit crazy with the murals.

From the outside the nearly 12,000-square-foot French-style home seems rather sedate but once inside the six-bedroom home things get a bit Flashtastic. Wade, known as "Flash," has put a "W" inlaid in the marble floor in the entrance hall and the listing includes the furnishings, artwork and some of Mr. Wade's memorabilia. There are rooms in the home, such as the dining room that are rather elegantly decorated, there are also touches like the Spider-man-themed bathrooms and the many, many renderings of Mr. Wade, that make this a home in need of some work. The home is so idiosyncratic that you would really have to be a fan to live here and I wonder if he will have as tough a time selling as Malone did. There is also a one-bedroom guest house, pool and patio with a summer kitchen on the property. The home is listed at $8.9 million. After the jump, a monument to ego.

UPDATE: Wade has struggled to sell the home, reducing the price several times. It is now listed at $4.599 million.

No matter how much money I ever acquire I would never put stenciled images of myself, my nickname at the bottom of my pool, hang a painted portrait, or adorn the floor with my initials. And above all, spider-man needs to go. But I still think Wade is the best.

if i were a kid that house would be haven and could care less about class and just have fun because nothing is free in this world. you work hard and relax even harder because not many people are star athletes.

Commenting that Dwyane Wade has an ego and has zero class is absolutely ridiculous. If you knew anything about the NBA at all you would know that Wade is the class of the league and is one of the few superstars that actually has very little ego.

You guys are retarded, that's a light fixture not a camera. Look at the shadow of it and you can tell its shaped like a light. You guys are looking into the center of the bulb that makes it look like the eye of the camera. You people are always trying to find ways to bring down these superstars for living lavish lives. You blame them after the battles most of them went through growing up? Maybe you critiques are the ones lacking class.

Has anyone stoped to think that Wade does not have the will or time to make decisions on his house, the wife may be the one with the taste. How about the current law suit that she got her self into for breach of contract and not paying a two year debt of a large amount of money to the company that build the house. Aparently the developer is going through a very tougth financial times due to what he's owed by the Wades.Maybe a lot of money but where is the honor?

So he has no class because there are two pictures of him? You people are moronic. Wade is the nicest, most humble person you've ever met. He probably just handed a check to an interior designer who let wade's son decide what he wanted his own room to look like. Seriously I'd love to see pictures of every room of your houses and see how you feel when a bunch of internet sleeze rips you apart personally.

Maybe he has class, maybe he doesn't, from these comments it would appear that most think he does, though how they can tell I have no idea... but really Matt, ur defending a drawing of himself naked from the waist up on a wall, how do you defend that

and Kevin, its a camera, but as someone enunciated earlier, it is a good idea, because goddamn, how else are you gonna keep an eye on your kids when you have a 12,000 square foot house

Wade is selling this house because after 3 years he gets a new BIG contract, where he will become one of the highest paid players in the league. He has no use for his "Starter House".

And all of you who is saying Nigger this and Nigger that, you can call him a Nigger all day long and he STILL will have a house that you can fit about 10 or 12 of your houses in, IF you are lucky enough to even have a house. It is more likely that you can fit about 5 of your trailer homes into my house, of which 6 of them can fit in his house. So get off of his nuts.

The kids bathroom needs some new cabinets though. You can't do the lil man like that. Give him some real granite, with some rounded corners.

although i am a big fan of flash and im sure hes a very normal dude, i do find it weird that the only cameras u see are in the kids bath room and the kids bed room. i could see what some of you are saying about making sure the kids are safe but wouldnt there be cameras in other spots because of how big the property is?

Seriously, the kiddy cameras are disturbing or bad parenting. If you don't believe your child can take a shower without breaking their neck then that child should be bathed in a bathtub by an adult infant style. So having a camera in the bathroom is obviously bad/lazy parenting or some sick Michael Jackson type stuff.

I like the house, everyone has their own tastes. The house can be easily changed to the new owners tastes. Also the writer of this article says that this house puts shaqs to shame. Maybe shaq's Miami house, but not his house in Orlando. D Wades house would fit inside Shaq's 60,000 ft house in Orlando.

Some of you PEOPLE need to get a grip. Im no DWade fan & I live in the Ft Laud area but theres NOTHING wrong with this house. Wade likes it,he pays the bills so relax. Not a person on here would turn down a change to live here, so go close your condo blinds & dont look if you dont like it! You can change it when YOU can afford to purchase it!

D'Wayne has the right to be concerned enough to monitor the safety of his young child or baby at any and all time. This is the true sign of his child safety is his first concern. This is the the United States and with technology today, why not? I'm proud for him and he's giving us something to talk about. He earned his keep, so go for it! You are a young man with a Big Heart. To you and yours have a safe and healthy career.

Obivisouly, it's a very nice house, but to really showcase the house I would think he would've hired a professional interior decorator. It's nice to see the brother acquire things that was once only a dream to the Black man.

Hey Dwyane Wade this is your biggest fan Matthew Samreth...I've been watching you and the Heat Team play in the season and the playoffs...You guys didn't do very well in the playoffs because everyone was out of shape...You guys had a bad season,but I know from my heart that yall will win or will be the cahmpions..I've been studying how the way you play and like I want to be like you...Well im in the 9th Grade but I'll be in 10th when we go back to school...I'm going to tryout for the JV Basketball team and do whatever it takes to make the team and to be better than you...Thankyou
