Dwayne Wade's House, Estate of the Day

The home of Miami Heat basketball star Dwayne Wade is one that I am just itching to hear your thoughts on.The massive home in the Pinecrest, Florida area puts to shame other NBA homes I have seen such as those owned by Shaquille O'Neal and Karl Malone. Like Shaq, Wade personalized his pool and like Malone, Wade went a wee bit crazy with the murals.
From the outside the nearly 12,000-square-foot French-style home seems rather sedate but once inside the six-bedroom home things get a bit Flashtastic. Wade, known as "Flash," has put a "W" inlaid in the marble floor in the entrance hall and the listing includes the furnishings, artwork and some of Mr. Wade's memorabilia. There are rooms in the home, such as the dining room that are rather elegantly decorated, there are also touches like the Spider-man-themed bathrooms and the many, many renderings of Mr. Wade, that make this a home in need of some work. The home is so idiosyncratic that you would really have to be a fan to live here and I wonder if he will have as tough a time selling as Malone did. There is also a one-bedroom guest house, pool and patio with a summer kitchen on the property. The home is listed at $8.9 million. After the jump, a monument to ego.
UPDATE: Wade has struggled to sell the home, reducing the price several times. It is now listed at $4.599 million.

He is selling it because he now has to build a 40,000 square foot house to just keep up with our own, the King himself, LeBron James!

The problem with people is you are damned if you do or don't. Give the man a break. He earned this opportunity because he made his dreams a reality. Get off your sorry behinds and make your dreams a reality so you will have less time to hate and more time to congratulate.

You people that are commenting on the fact that there is a camera pointing at his child's bed or in the bathroom have a one track mind. Did you ever stop to think that with the camera pointed at the bed, Wade can see if his child is missing from his bed in the middle of the night. I doubt the camera is there for any perverted Michael Jackson purpose that you may be conjuring up in your minds.

all you haters get a life its got class and lots of personification which there is nothing wrong when you get paid like he does. minor maybe less than 100,000 to get it sold instantly. freak is people like that one guy who is complaining about cameras in bathroom only sick people think that way especially in a kids bathroom.nice job d-wade!!!!

All of the money spent on this house and it looks like this??? No thanks. Looks like he needs to spend some money on a decorator and nice furnishings. A round bed? Soooo 70's. Give me a break!

Who cares about fixing up the place? He bought his home, he lived there, and now he wants to sell; "simple". Fix up some of these homes, that are costing consumers an arm & a leg just to look at. Mr. Wade, has lived out his dream and he did it his way,for those "eeww" people i have a question; Have u paid for a ten million dollar home? Until then no negative comments please; Does any of your true friends like your home? Do you care? Try living for yourself because he has definetly lived for hisself.

That house looked tacky. The furniture did not match, and the artwork was ugly. I think the whole thing looked tacky. The cameras, I don't know, maybe a lot of people with huge houses have cameras to watch thier kids.

I am a realtor in Miami and there is no way in the world this house will sell for 8.9 million or anywhere near that asking price.
We are suffering from a down time in the market in Miami as everything has become overpriced.
Wade's home is beautiful. Anyone would LOVE to live in it. Every person who said they wouldn't is full of crap, but not for 9 mil. It might go for six, but not 9. Let alone having to redo a pool that was done for him specifically, having a mural of himself in the home as well as the marble W on the floor. Quite frankly, if I am spending that kind of money on a home, I want to move right in and not have to do the work that would be needed to change those things.
But it doesn't sniff the palace that Shaq lives in on Star Island that he's selling for like 20 million.

Beautiful home, however it does lack life, color and depth; I think that a simple paint job, placed onto those sterile walls and new furnishing would rock the hell out of that place. If the property was within my price range, I would certainly make an offer.
It has great potential for simply elegance.
p.s. Clowns stop hating; a man’s home is his castle!

WOW what a home imagine if someone actually lived in it.a museum for wade how nice. Now, the big ? is.Why would MR.Wade but so much of himself in this palace 2 years ago just to sell it off.guess what miami fans dont exspect to see wade in a heat uniform next year, such a pity.hey maybe shaq will purchase the home.U know it would suit shaq and his deputy sherriff life style.or maybe al pacino will buy it to remind him of his scareface days.wether a basketball player or cocaine dealer the house is cold and a waste of space, ill pass.

Wade is a hard worker whose fought for everything he has now. He's no different from any other hard working man who loves his family and the house is a symbol of that. So please don't bring him down when he's worked extremely hard to come up!

All of this celebrity worship needs to stop. Who in the hell needs a 72-room house anyway?? We have too many homeless people (homeless FAMILIES) in this country to watch these celebrities indulge on money earned from UNUSABLE SKILLS. What good does athletes, rappers and singers who put out wack albums, entertainers and others who get paid MILLIONS simply because they play a game or looks cute on camera?? THEY DO NOTHING useful FOR SOCIETY that commands the money they make. Their 'job' consists of playing a game for 2-3 hours. Most have no clue what a 40-hour (or more) work week is. How many times have THEY had to decide to pay either the electric bill OR put food on the table? We have soldiers dying in misguided, rouge, cess pool countries who can barely afford to take care of their families.
We, THE PEOPLE, must bring a STOP to all celebrity worshipping and quit handing them MILLIONS for nothing.

I agree with the last person, not a pedofile here just good parenting. Get over your own dirty minds. As for the rest of the house, the guy obviously loves his kid/kids and made the bathroom and bedroom for them. In my opinion, cool house, cool parents...paint will make the place perfect for the next lucky family.
john ransom Apr 16th 2007 7:44PM
While the house is fantastic the decor is somewhat immature. He probably will change a number of things as he matures....especially the spider man bathroom.
Corey Fry Apr 16th 2007 10:15PM
Wow what a bunch of Haters!!!!! Everyone who said something negative about this house and Mr. Wade obviously is a wee bit jealous. Hey idiots its a house that he personalized and now he wants to buy another. Jealous loosers like you would'nt understand that if you could play Basketball like Wade you might be able to buy a house bigger than a trailer. Camaras smamaras its for protection you retards. Im sure there all over the house so morons like you won't break in and steal his stuff.
