Dwayne Wade's House, Estate of the Day

The home of Miami Heat basketball star Dwayne Wade is one that I am just itching to hear your thoughts on.The massive home in the Pinecrest, Florida area puts to shame other NBA homes I have seen such as those owned by Shaquille O'Neal and Karl Malone. Like Shaq, Wade personalized his pool and like Malone, Wade went a wee bit crazy with the murals.
From the outside the nearly 12,000-square-foot French-style home seems rather sedate but once inside the six-bedroom home things get a bit Flashtastic. Wade, known as "Flash," has put a "W" inlaid in the marble floor in the entrance hall and the listing includes the furnishings, artwork and some of Mr. Wade's memorabilia. There are rooms in the home, such as the dining room that are rather elegantly decorated, there are also touches like the Spider-man-themed bathrooms and the many, many renderings of Mr. Wade, that make this a home in need of some work. The home is so idiosyncratic that you would really have to be a fan to live here and I wonder if he will have as tough a time selling as Malone did. There is also a one-bedroom guest house, pool and patio with a summer kitchen on the property. The home is listed at $8.9 million. After the jump, a monument to ego.
UPDATE: Wade has struggled to sell the home, reducing the price several times. It is now listed at $4.599 million.

Give me a break. You folks that are freaked about the cameras in the kids areas are ridiculous. Call the authorities? Insinuate that he's a pedophile because he has cameras up? How stupid some folks can be. If you lived in a 12,000 friggin-square foot house, how else do you think you think you keep an eye on the kids? If a kid slips and falls in the shower? It's not like you'd hear it. If a kid jumps off the bed and hurts himself, you'd never hear them cry. But if you have cameras with monitors you can check periodically it would give you peace of mind... not jollies you morons.

I would love to live in the mansion; pretty sure you'll will to. You'll are just jealous of a black man with money to do with what he want. I am pretty sure that he has cameras in all rooms in the house to keep you preverts out.

The house is a pretty dull color but overall it is pretty fabolous. Who are we to judge when we cant afford to live like that. It would be minor adjustments and his ego is not big. It's his house, better to do it in his house than on the court or in the streets. Let's be real, wat celebrity house doesnt look like that. It's a fantasy that they can live out, what would you do if you could?????
welcome back wade i knew you would be back.

Gorgeous home. I doubt it is overpriced especially for the location and the size of the home. Hope hurricanes aren't near

Lebron James is building a 30,000 square ft. home between Akron and Cleveland. So yes, I would say that each star goes more and more to extremes with relation to size and maybe ego, as well.

They showed Shaq's house on tv and Wade has the same style round bed as Shaq. The murals aren't that great. They could have done a better job on the spiderman bathroom. With all the money Wade makes he could've hired someone with more talent to paint the murals. The house really isn't that great, but Wade is still a great player!..LET'S GO HEAT!!

A house is not a home unless there loving feeling their this is house has an empty feeling,Flash need a three thousand sq ft home so the family can be closer to each other and share the love.

What a beautiful home. Mr. Wade's next home must be this close to heaven.
toyboy Apr 13th 2007 8:59PM
Dwayne Wade's house is amazing!!! Better than all the haters' houses out there. He is a classy guy, not to mention an amazing basketball player. Leave the man alone, he has money to spend and let him spend it anyway he wants. He is an NBA champion, unlike Dirk!!!

Why is everyone so worried about his house. It's fine. His house, his money
Ellise Apr 13th 2007 9:23PM
your house is your domain. You make it they way u want. If u want to put your picture on your wall go ahead it doesn't mean that you have too much money and zero class. Yeah call the authorities so they can waste their time on someone who isn't a pedophile instead of getting the ones that are. You people need to grow up. I like the house.
T Apr 13th 2007 9:29PM
The house is sick. My dad and me live in 1 bedroom apt. He calls it home, It's properly the size of spidey bathroom. I wouldn't change anything.

All you that feel it is ok to have a camera in a childs bathroom are the same people that have a response like, that kid asked for it or he is a superstar, he wouldn't do something like that. Get a life. People that bury their heads in the sand when there are issues glaring you in the face are the same type that feel pedophiles can be rehabilitated and should receive special treatment such as probation, state supported mental health all while a child is suffering. If you had more than two brain cells functioning, you would know there are numerous ways to monitor a child rather than an intrusive camera faced directly at the bed and bathroom. Audio monitors, nannies just to name two. As far as the house, to each his own. He obviously is a legend in his own mind, but that is his choice. It is his money he can use it for a home or legal representation. But that is just my opinion. SSF
Kim Apr 13th 2007 9:54PM
I agree with the camera situation. Its a good thing to have the cameras in the childs room, and bathroom or other areas. With a house that big you should keep an eye on your child and also the way people are coming in houses and taking children now...no mater how much security you may have its it possible. The house is very nice and yes if you can afford a 8.9 million dollar house then it should be nothing for you to re-arrange it and put your own special touches to it. He personalized the house the way he wanted it when he lived there and that is the way it should be. Your home should have your special touches to it. If I could afford it, liked the way it was made, and did not have time to build the way I wanted...I would purchase it, go in and redo to add my special touches, and live until I made another choice.

Why is it so many rappers and athletes don't think to hire Interior Designers? If anyone is in a position to create a gorgeous home out of a monstrous mansion it is these wealthy superstars. So why when ever I see "Cribs" they are hideous and blah. Seriously a Designers job is to express the home owners and occupants style so there's only positive reasons for professionals to be brought in, at least before they go on "Cribs" PLEASE!!!!!
