Lil Jon's Necklace Sets Bling Record

Rapper Lil Jon has quite a handful with the necklace shown here. The Guinness Book of World Records has officially certified it as the largest diamond pendant ever. The "Crunk Aint Dead" pendant is 7.5 inches tall, six inches wide and weighs almost 12 pounds. This is some bitty bling, 73 carats of diamonds on the necklace but 3,756 round-cut white diamonds total set in 18K yellow and white gold. It is valued at around $500,000. I'd say something about how tacky it is but he seems so proud of it.

Listen people... theres alot of racism where i live (Detroit Michigan)and i think it needs to stop.. to many people getting killed for the color of our skin... if he wants to spend $500 g's on a 12 lb necklace.. fine.. thats on him.. some spend it on custom cars, houses, boats ,jewels, stocks.. what ever.. its his money.... i mean come on hip hop / rap died a long time ago.. but like the person in a pervious comment said.. they are making millons doing it still. i have been a hip hop fan since the mid / late 80's so i have seen it from the good to the bad to the deadly.... all music goes through there shitty times.. it happens.. so let them do as they wish... when they are broke.. they have nobody to bitch to... but themselves

What an abomination! People are starving and this moron spends $500,000 on THAT? No style, no caring for other, just me, me, me! When his career (if you can call it that) crashes and burns or when he is shot dead by his peeps, he can use that to live off of OR to pay for the funeral. He is a complete WASTE of oxygen!

What difference does it make that Lil Jon decides to spend his money this way. Why don't people just worry about there own finances. Im damn sure that Lil Jon does not get on his diamond computer and make comments about the choices you all make. He's rich and could give a shit. For all you people saying this type of music is so horrible, then do something better. Sounds to me like you are jealous because he used his talent and Capitalized on it. This is America. Capitalism is what this Country was built on. Don't hate because someone else figured out how to do it and you're sitting at home still trying to work that problem out. Stop writing Blogs and Beef up your resume'. That may be the first step in solving your money problems!!

YOU CAN TAKE THE PERSON OUT OF THE GHETTO BUT YOU CANT TAKE THE GRETTO OUT OF THE PERSON. WHAT A WASTE . THESE PUNKS ARE JUST TO IGNORANT TO "get it"

I need some help understanding this. Is everyone pissed because this guy has terrible taste and chooses to spend HIS money on obnoxious jewelery or is it because he is a black man that makes music that you do not like? As for "he should give his money to his community" How do you know he doesn't?

#14... if you're one step away from eviction, try cancelling your internet connection and selling your computer. And if you're on the computer at work, you're probably breaking company policy, not a good idea, losing your job won't help. And if you're at the library, try using the internet to find a job or a place you can afford. If you're that close to not having a roof over your head you need to change your priorities from looking and crap news like this to making your situation better. Either that or you're lying and just wanted to make your post seem more important and get a pity party going.
I think alot of the music that has come out lately is crap, but if people are willing to spend money on it, then so be it. Kudos to anyone that can get people to fork over $16 for a cd that stinks. If you're a smart enough business person, then you deserve all that money. And if you're short on cash cause you're spending your money on music like this, then you've gotten what you deserve.
I used to live paycheck to paycheck, barely hanging on, but instead of whinning about it abd wishing everyone would fork over their hard earned money to help me, I did something about it. I went back to school, trying to make my schedule work with my daughter's, who was in pre-school at the time. I worked while I was in school and made time for my family. Then I spent 40 hours a week looking for a job that was a good fit, and now, 2 1/2 years later, I'm the CFO of a multi-million dollar family corporation. No more paycheck to paycheck. No more wondering how to pay the water bill or put food on the table. In the process I met a wonderful man and my daughter and I and he and his daughter are living happily ever after. If I wanted to spend $500,000 on a tacky ugly necklace, I'd have every right to. And so does Lil' John

I agree, rap music has really been dead since 1996 when Pac died. Oh yeah, hey "DMM" your mother gives great oral!!! Nice deep throat, Give her my thanks!
michael Apr 2nd 2007 2:59PM
i like it ....he made his own money,he did not steal the damn necklace.who are we to judge anyone.when you are reduced to name calling or using bigitry slang...it just creates a whole new problem.

Why is everyone trying to turn this into a race war??? I am sure white rappers such as Eminem spend thier money on stupid crap. It has nothing to do with color, Nobody except a few stupid people on here are talking about the color of his skin. Plain and simple its just a waste of money. And no I really don't care how much he spends, but that is the point of having a message board to talk about it duh!
REX KRIEDLER Apr 2nd 2007 3:06PM
CRUNK MAY NOT BE DEAD... BUT HE'S SURE F.O.S.!
THAT'S THE MOST VULGAR DISPLAY OF STUPIDITY AND
WASTE OF MONEY I'VE SEEN IN A LONG TIME.

I have to say, most white men in this country are gay. Not that there is anything wrong with it. They love conflict, war, being angry, being hateful, in short, they seem to enjoy chaos. Take a step back and look around you, and you will see that you are the reason why the world hates us. Just because lil Jon has a bigger "package", money and confidence than you, doesnt mean that he is more stupid than u, its the other way around. You guys are obviously missing the point. His bling is doing exactly what he wants, publicity and he is definitely getting it and his record is going to sell very well and then he may sell this bling and make even more. Don't be shallow, just widen your scope and u will the big picture. Its his money, and he will do as he pleases no matter what u say. U can screen until u r red and nothing will change. Take a deep breath and then mind your own business. If you have never purchased a cd from him, then u really must shut up and go hunting.
Anna Apr 2nd 2007 3:05PM
People will always hate what they can not get or do for themselves.
If you did not make the money, how can you judge or tell someone what to do with their money.
If you believe he should do something positive with his money, please let everyone know just what you did with your $500,000.00!!! Or how about just minding your own business and let the man spend his loot anyway he damm well pleases!
anesthesia Apr 2nd 2007 3:05PM
i guess i can understand being upset by his spending his money so frivolously, but the fact is it IS his money. if everyone here is so concerned with the community, why dont they stop wasting their time on the internet and go out and volunteer?
not to mention that it's fine to dislike someone's decisions, but it's completely ignorant and tasteless to dislike them or stereotype them because of their race. who cares if he's black? who cares if he makes music you don't like? -then don't listen to it. but to attack and generalize to an entire race is incredibly appalling. i hate being reminded that people like this even exist in the world.
Ricer_Boy Apr 2nd 2007 3:10PM
Typical people yeah this may not be the smartest way to spend your money but celeberities are not the only ones to waste money. For example the govermant spends 100s of millions on these mars rover just so the can blow up beforethey make it to the planet or die a week after getting there. Another example is the war in Iraq were in Billions of dollars in debt and still have not stop the terrorist that we went over to stop. The worst part is all this money is being spent on the war and the majority of the people over there find it worse now than when Sadam was in power.

It's really interesting to see what response a photo and people's personal emotional response to the photo gets us. Just because the article says the pendant cost $500,000 doesn't mean that's what he paid for it. Take a look at the jewelry at the Oscars and Emmys...all on loan. And more importantly, for publicity. This, like many things entertainment types do, are for publicity. Wake up! In 2007 marketing is the new name of the game. How do you think Johnny Knoxville became popular? An article about an alleged $500,000 dollar chain is going to get Li'l Jon a million dollars worth of free publicity. Enjoy his success because you're all making a wonderful contribution to it.
ZAHIROSMAN Apr 2nd 2007 3:06PM
It's his money and he can do whatever the F$CK he wants to do with it! So will all you HATERS out there GET A LIFE!
Heather Gragg Apr 2nd 2007 4:12PM
12lbs just for the pendant!? He's gonna have a sore neck.
kati Apr 2nd 2007 3:10PM
Leave Lil Jon alone! He is making a positive statement. You and yours can do it, too. Would you rather see him in The Guinness Book of Records depicting a plantation scene with the biggest fork and longest hoe, or see him with some admirable bling. Flaunt what you got, son. Things have changed. The days of looking back are gone. Let's reach for the future and build our own creativity and image.
Brando Apr 2nd 2007 3:11PM
First this is to #7...go get a life instead of calling other ppl names, espically n*****...whats wrong with u. Next, i agree with #20, y attack this dude 4 haveing his 500,000 pendent, but yet we don't attack ppl like Paris who don't do anything to make money and yet still buy $10,000 purses. And finaly, rap is not crap, rap is awsome, if ur callin rap crap, stop living in the 60's and get cought up on the times.
