Lil Jon's Necklace Sets Bling Record

Rapper Lil Jon has quite a handful with the necklace shown here. The Guinness Book of World Records has officially certified it as the largest diamond pendant ever. The "Crunk Aint Dead" pendant is 7.5 inches tall, six inches wide and weighs almost 12 pounds. This is some bitty bling, 73 carats of diamonds on the necklace but 3,756 round-cut white diamonds total set in 18K yellow and white gold. It is valued at around $500,000. I'd say something about how tacky it is but he seems so proud of it.

Obviously he is making a fool of himself; but the irony is, those baubles represent free enterprise in a capitalistic society -- a society, arguably better than any other country. Perhaps he didn't take status quo courses in an Ivy League school, but he found a way. The wealthy hierarchy -- the few who run this country would seem to be equally a suitable target of the have nots. People who own large conglomerates, making billions; and pay minimun wages seemed to have escaped your crosshairs.

Live and let live people. No, I don't agree with what some people with to much money do with it. But...it's theirs to spend however they see fit, however ignorant we may think it is. That's one of the major problems with this country...everyone seems to think they know what's best for everyone else. How about you mind your damn business and leave everyone the hell alone. And don't feel like your opinion should be some kind of law or right. Opinions are like assholes...everyone has one and they all stink.

And 210...I'm not in anyway "defending" this guy for his spending habits. What I am defending is the right of each and everyone of us to do whatever we please with the money we earn. It's none of your business or anyone else's...regardless of how reckless or irresponsible anyone else thinks it may be. That happens to be one of the few "rights" we have left...and it's your type of thinking that is eating away at that one. Sure that money could be spent on better things....but HE chose not to do that. If you make a shit load of money then knock yourself out. I continuously see these "Super Churches" springing up around the country. Spending millions of dollars on these places...these people call themselves "Christians"? much of these comments are racist in my opinion. the brothas out here with these necklaces are small time we have but three black billionaires. look at Paul Allen CEO of Charter Communications and a founder of Microsoft. his yacht costs as much as that necklace to service every few years and the cost of the yacht itself is 700 times that necklace but because it's a boat you can consider it's main objective transportation where as a necklace's only objective is to show one's wealth. if you want to bitch about something bitch about stuff like that these dudes dont have and will never have the resources to be as wasteful and some of the super rich are.

Larry Ellison has a 200 million dollar yacht and a 200 million dollar home. that's just two of his "look what i can do" items. now the house may have the potential for application in value but the boat I'm sure doesnt and again it's 400 times the cost of Lil Johns no maintenance needed necklace. I'm sure this yacht also consumes what lil john paid for that necklace every few years in maintenance.

bottom line,

it's their money i dont care what they do with it. the only reason i posted is because i see many of you are way to influenced by media and look at brothas like lil john and heavily criticize him for this purchase but look right past the people who really make outlandish purchases because their vocations are prestiegous in your eyes.
