Osage Beach, Estate of the Day

I got curious about Osage Beach, Missouri after hearing of a new massive hotel that is going up in the area so I decided to find the most luxurious estate in the area. A quick search brought me to this home. it is located on the water and has 12,000 square feet of space including seven bedrooms and a huge two-story living room with a balcony. The design sins are too numerous too mention, it looks like they were going for a hacienda look but there are also ski house style elements. It does deserve some charm points for the breezeway bar and grill with the patterned tin ceiling. There is also an inground pool facing the lake with an outdoor fireplace. The home is listed at $4.99 million. After the jump, three ktichens, no waiting for a snack.

Someone sure wasted a lot of money on that house. It would be worth twice what they are asking if they had used a good designer and architect.

Can you say "Motel"?

I agree that the design is a little off, but you can't beat that location. Somebody will come along and fall in love with the view. I never even knew there was lakefront property like this in Missouri.
But only 12K square feet? Man, those are some cramped quarters. :-)

I actually think the 2 story balcony 'motelesque' look is ok, but could be greatly improved by adding levels to that flat roof, even if they were faux.
