American Idol In The Valley, Estate of the Day

Randy Jackson from American Idol could take some decorating tips from another music man, Tony Kiedis, whose Beverly Hills home is an absolute showplace (I know, I told you earlier but seriously, sit through the tour of his house). Jackson has a large home in Tarzana that he has put on the market. It's a space to work with but as the sassy Mama over at the Real Estalker pointed out, Jackson hasn't really done a lot with the decor. It can't be that he is afraid of color, the home has turquoise and orange walls after all and check out the rainbow dishes in the kitchen. I would think that perhaps Jackson has already moved out and taken the good stuff with him but there are computers and musical instruments and other sign of habitation. The home has five bedrooms including a master suite with hers and hers bathrooms. It is listed at $3.199 million. After the jump, you've got to put paintings on the walls, dawg.

Villa Chili ROCKS I love it when rock stars show that they have taste and class in their homes That is an estate of the year!

I like the decor. Most of us take the conservative way out and paint with off-white or pastels. A couple of rooms are bright in his home, but the rest are what we all have. I like the lack of clutter (something I suffer terribly from) and the fact that it doesn't show off his money. Good for Randy! His home is decorated to HIS taste. He doesn't NEED to impress ANYONE!

Randy's house is tatefully decorated but it does
not flow from room to room. Seem's like each room could be from a different house. Love the the structure of the house...great backyard for his dawg.
Linda Mar 8th 2007 8:32PM
I find the house quite cozy, I just wish I could afford it. I watch American Idol every night it is on, and I love Randy's perspective, and his house goes with the Jackson profile, YOU rock DAWG.

Now that is one ugly house. He needs a landscape architect and an interior decorator to salvage that disaster. Otherwise, the only reason he could hope to get that price is location, location, location.

As a professional in the "design" business for 35 yrs, the decor lacks both taste and shows what money can not buy. Its horrible! hope he did not spend much because its furnishings are less than in good taste as well as quality! Unfortunately that equates to 98% of our population. Its the industries fault, not the consumers. If your that 98%, pls don't take offense! Its purely education and inherente.

I love Randy's choices of color, he like me, is not afraid to go BOLD! Bravo Randy! Just something to think about...maybe an island in the kitchen and a bit of small artwork on the empty wall spaces? I think that would ROCK!

"Beverly Hills!
That's where I wanna be!"
"Beverly Hills!
Rollin' like a celebrity!"
Sorry...couldn't help it...

Perkins, I think the house has charm and yes, there does appear to be a child's table in one room...maybe it's a kids room. What I really want to know is: what in the world does "inherente" mean?
Paulina Mar 8th 2007 9:38PM
the place screams Ikea, Linens and Things and Target.
Not too impressed.
Midas Mar 8th 2007 9:51PM
The word is "inherent" not "inherente." It means a natural quality or characteristic. Perkins may be a design specialist but lacks language skills, since the use of "your" (possessive pronoun) was used in place of "you're" (contraction for "you are"). The same goes for "its." It should be "it's." I often marvel at a person's critique. Mr. Jackson's taste is just fine as long as he enjoys his environment. Also, it is a difficult thing to judge the quality of furnishings or any other item from a photograph...
Beth Mar 8th 2007 9:59PM
The outside of the house leaves a lot to be desired. Nothing special by any
means. On the other hand the inside of the home needs all the help
in the world. Obviously whoever lived there lacked taste of their
own and didn't seek the help of a designer.

This house is a reflection of it's owner...
It's straight up UGLY.....dogg!

Hey Midas! 'Chill out this isn't English 101,' Let people be who they are, and be gracious toward your fellow human being. There is no grade here just people expressing their idea's, You never know, Maybe they were not fortunate to get a good education, Some school systems suck! And many of the teacher's, unfortunately were not interested in teaching they were there just for the pay check!
As for the Home everyone has different tastes and only a certain amount of time or money, or patience
For what some might consider a mundane task or decorating their home, Especially artist's they have a tendency toward their passion, music, painting acting, dancing, Etc., ( For me the Home has a lot of potential, there are some things I like and other's that would not suit my style!)

This house is stark, non-descript, and just plain boring!! Not a lot of imagination or color went into this design, if indeed there was one. Randy's house hs absolutely no personality or warmth. Not very welcoming...
Lacey Mar 8th 2007 11:04PM
Am I the only one that noticed the large mirror that is parallel to the bed in the master bedroom? *shiver* The last thing I want to think about is Randy Jackson gettin' his freak on and watching himself.
"Aww yeah dawg... let me tap that... mmmm... uh huh... that's it dawg... back that a$$ up dawg... who's yo daddy dawg... say my name dawg!!!"
I think I just threw up in my mouth. Just a little.
Rainbabe Mar 8th 2007 11:23PM
Most people know that when you sell a house these days you don't want your personal touches to show through and that you only stage a house with the bare minimum to show off it's size. As you can tell from these photo's Randy's personal things have been removed. But I do think it would show better if there were a few nice paintings on the walls.
Pamela Mar 8th 2007 11:34PM
All you haters: would you snub your nose at this if it were yours? To each his own, and I'd love to have this house!
ahhh Mar 9th 2007 12:04AM
John, I think your right, why can't we all just get along? We are who we are. Can you accept that?
Mrs. Lawrence Mar 9th 2007 12:06AM
To John Everson : You don't need to tell the whole world that you have no education, your spelling and grammar does it for you all too well. Oh, but then I am sure that was the teacher's fault, or the system, or anyone's but yours. Learn to spell ..
