Breckenridge, Estate of the Day

Sometimes I feel bad for a home that has been used exclusively as a second home or a rental. It hasn't had a chance to develop a distinctive soul. This home in Breckenridge, Colorado seems that way to me. It's fairly generic, a monster 10,000+ square foot home built just a few years ago. It has five bedroom suites, a huge kitchen with a Wolf dual fuel range and a butler's pantry, a heated driveway and a huge rooftop deck with views of the town and the slopes. Designed for the recreational life the home has a ski room, home theater, wine cellar and plenty of rooms built for sprawling by the fireplace after hitting the slopes or going hiking. What it doesn't have is a personality. It is listed at an even $7 million. After the jump, step 1, add color and swap out those generic ceiling fans.

You are so right. Never has this expensive of a house been so depressing to me.

It's reassuring to know that $7 million can still buy you a big steaming pile of bland.

Having been in the house...I must agree! The home has the same colors throughout. Did like the stone wine cellar! But the colors throughout were replicated and rather blah...as were the furnishings. The lack of pictures and personal effects really gave it a sterile feel.
