When I first spotted Mesi Jilly's shell rings in Vogue a few months ago, I was of two minds about them. One the one hand, as someone who grew up next to the ocean, I love anything with a seaside theme. On the other, I have my reservations about gems combined with
less than durable materials.
Mesi Jilly's first jewelry collection is a range of shell-based rings that combine gemstones and coral with gold or silver. Each ring is a one-of-a-kind creation made in Italy by jeweler Stefano Zuolo. The remind me of the
wood and crystal rings created by Christine J. Brandt. The shell and coral ring shown here sells for $815 at Vivre.
