Extreme Roses Are A Hot V-Day Gift
When we first heard about the existence of the world's tallest roses, with lush blooms sitting on stems that tower well over five feet above the ground, we immediately knew that they would be an in-demand item for Valentine's day. It turns out that the Washington Post thinks so, too. According to their latest article on the subject, "extreme roses" are growing in popularity faster than the flowers are blooming. They are turning up in celebrity homes and some were featured in the Rose Bowl Parade earlier this year.
Be warned, though: as with most excessively large things (SUVs, for example), these roses aren't inexpensive. Organic Bouquet, a company that specializes in the larger than life roses, charges $250 per dozen. On the plus side, they'll make a huge impact on your Valentine and, because the breed of rose is known as "Forever Young," one dozen should last quite a while.

First, don't judge a product by its name. Second, if you charge 250$ for a dozen of your roses, you can afford to hire an actual model.

For $250, you could buy her a hundred normal roses and some earrings. I'm willing to bet your average girl would be a bit more impressed by that than some mutant plants.

I am sure that these roses could be available at local florists. The ones on Organic Boutique's site are sold out. And think $250 is a rip off. You can probably get 20% off somewhere else.

I bet they don't last any longer than regular roses and for the price I would rather have carnations.

I would rather have the regular tradional roses for the price of the forever young you could do alot more without spending alot.

I'm only five feet tall...I like roses that I can actually see without hurting myself.... I would prefer a tiny mutant plant any day....

Prepare for next year, I bought one of these bushes at a nursery end of season a couple of years ago and used Tagro to fertilize them, mine grew 8ft tall!
I had 2 dozen from the one bush that were useable.
You have to remember the ratio vs. cost of growing per year $250 a dozen is comparable to produce from the bush. Time involved for watering, weeding, and protection from insects and diseases is costly especially if you go organic all the way. So until you have tried to grow your own, don't criticize.
Tried to save a buck or two, myself. Shopping for plant an hour, digging a hole and planting it an hour, hauling fertilizer for it an hour, watering it every other day an hour a week for 16 weeks. Let's say 20 hours at minimum wage $7.?? in the northwest, you do the Math! They make less than 50% profit plus shipping costs on top if they were not included.
