Risk-Free Ways To Join The Mile-High Club
Here's a bit of a risque idea for a Valentine's Day adventure, how about a mile-high club flight? The Observer has a story on England's first mile-high club service, which takes off from an airfield in Gloucestershire on a twin-engined Piper Aztec, outfitted for two. Couples can arrange for a "quickie" flight which is 30 minutes up to a "VIP" flight which lasts 90 minutes. After your flight you get a certificate ( would you really want to hang that on your wall?). Prices start from £250 for a 'Quickie' (30 minutes), and go up to £750 for a 'VIP' (an impressive 90 minutes). Discretion is promised and at the end you get a certificate. The service is due to start later this year. Here in the States you can find a variety of similar services. A website devoted to the mile-high club lists companies that offer these types of flights and there are whole businesses such as Mile High Atlanta dedicated to helping couples reach their goal.

But doesnt that take away the excitement of it? I mean... the risk... the challenge... thats what makes it so great. I dunno maybe I'm wrong I have yet to do it LOL

I thought being a member of the "Mile High Club" was more of the "thrill of getting away with it on an airplane" concept?
Paying for a special quickie takes the adventure out it!

30 min.?? Hows about a 6 min. quick quickie flight. Or just taxi around the runway a couple times.

If you're gonna join the mile-high club, my advice is to do it in the lav of a 747. From my experience, Qantas 747 lavs are especially roomy, and if you commence the act within a few hours of the beginning of the flight, the lavs are likely going to still be relatively clean and trash-free.

I agree with Helia. Besides which, at least for the guy, a quickie in the lav of a Qantas 747 early in the flight is a good way to get relaxed and go to sleep for that monstrous 14+ hour trip to/from Australia!

I have to say that payment definitely takes the fun out of it! Never done it in the lav of a 747 but straddling the pilot on a private jet sure is a fun time.

...until, of course, you accidentally lean back too far on the steering yoke and throw the plane into a nosedive.....

What if you have a private pilots license? They should give a discount.

And more time...

From my understanding the mile high club could only be joined if you traveled at a certain alttitude 33,000?? or above.Me and my then future wife, joined 20 years ago from New York To Paris in a evening flight Every one is asleep and the restrooms are empty, one sneeks back and signals the other when the coast is clear. And at the end my sister-in-law mailed us t shirts with a M.H.C. logo
P.S. The stainless steel sinks are cold!
