A $200 toaster may seem outrageous, but the
KitchenAid Pro Line Toaster is so worth the money. It has a classic appeal with no extra frills or complicated features. Made of aluminum and stainless steel, there are nine different browning settings allowing you to get the perfect toast. The slots measure at 1" wide to fit bagels and specialty breads. As opposed to having the pop up feature when your toast is ready, a tone signal is used instead to keep your bread warm. Dimensions: 9 1/2" x 10 3/4" x 8. It is also available as a
4 slot toaster for $250.

Sounds "great" to have a toaster that is simple ("no frills") yet MORE expensive. I have a father that is hard of hearing, not deaf , but no high frequency hearing, mine is going too, how the heck are we to hear the bread is ready? The POP-UP indicator of the present day toasters make noise and visual signs. When the bread pops up you do not need to actually see it pop up to know it has when you see it. Just another gaget NOT needed.

WOW $250 why is it that they make things so expensive the normal wage earner can't afford?

With being able to buy a toaster for less than $12 dollars and less than $15 dollars at any national Dollar Store for the bagel size that work great....this toaster is obvious for the person who have nothing better to do with their money than spend it on this type of item. The noise let's me know the toast is ready....I can think of better things to spend my money on....

it'd make a nice wedding gift if you had the money i guess. i like my 14.00 toaster that tosses the toast right out of the machine when it's done, and onto the floor if i don't stand there to catch it!!

I am so going to buy this for everyone I know-NOT!
Darius Jan 30th 2007 7:55AM
Ridiculous!! I bought a new toaster for $5 on closeout that has a brushed metal / black finish, multiple toast settings , bagel and defroster capability. Alas, it does pop up. I suspect no-one would know the difference between the $5 toaster toast and the $250 toast. If someone wants to spend $250, buy a $20 toaster and contribute the difference to charity. Your toast will taste better.

$250 on a toaster makes no sense to me. If you have money to blow like that, the next time you have the desire to be so careless with your funds. Grow a heart and go to your local gas company and stand around until you see some mother who can't afford to keep the gas on, to keep her children warm and put $250 toward her past due bill. People will spend $250 on a toaster, and every year you hear of some family dying in a house fire from trying to heat it in unsafe ways. $250 to brown bread, makes no sense, but a safe warm sleeping home, does. Do something better with your funds, rather than using them to brown bread.

I like your catch title--very interesting--Finally, a $200 Toaster. Have people been waiting for this?
Mine is like hatesthecold. it hurls it out of the slots--I don't try to catch it--I just seem to get out of the way.

I have never had good luck with Kitchenaid.... It would be a cold day in your know where that I would spend this much on a toaster, made by Kitchenaid... No thanks.... I wouldn't buy a garbage can made by them....

Hummmm.....GREAT for ONLY 2 PIECES OF TOAST!!! How can one toast more bread/bagels for others and keep the first TWO warm???? hummmmmmmm.......
Solution: Turn on the oven....setting to WARM....put as many pieces of TOASTED bread/bagels there...until the breads/bagels are ready to serve to those present to eat.
$200.00+ for only 2 pieces to keep warm.....
Pros.....KEEPS 2 PIECES OF TOAST WARM....
Cons.....CANNOT make additional toast while keeping the first 2 pieces.....
....TOO EXPENSIVE....when only a $14.00 one will do the same to toasting.
Happy Mardi Gras!!!! (Beads are free for those 'catching them')

$250??? It doesn't even look nice - looks kind of homemade - by a 7th grade shop class for their first project. It's Kitchen Aid, so it probably works well - makes toast, not just warm bread. But I like the idea of better use of my money. There is such a thing as value, and this doesn't have it. Anybody that buys one should hide it from their kids - not to protect it, but to keep them from learning the wrong things about the value of a dollar.

I agree 200 dollars for a toaster is outradgiuos and the company that has made this really should be ashamed of them selves for trying to sell for that price. And i totally agree with kei grow a heart and help a family out.
cris smith Jan 30th 2007 8:38AM
I wonder what $200 toast tastes like? I'll bet it tastes just like my $30 toast!!!!
Nan Jan 30th 2007 8:40AM

Cherri Jan 30th 2007 9:05AM
I can't believe ANYONE would spend that kind of money on a ANY
Cherri Jan 30th 2007 9:05AM
I can't believe that ANYONE would spend that kind of money on a SIMPLE toaster! My question is... WHY does it have to cost $200? Other toasters that do more don't cost that much. Explain it to me... WHY?!
With the economy the way it is, i can't imagine too many running out to buy something so rediculous. $200 is my kids clothing allowance for new clothes in September..... the more i think of it, the more it upsets me that the title on the article was "Finally"......give me a break!!
thegeminifairy Jan 30th 2007 9:04AM
Geese! I'll take one for free!
