Secret Cabinet
While I wouldn't mind finding a secret entrance to another place at the back of my wardrobe, the scenario seems fairly unlikely. The closest that I can probably hope to come by purchasing furniture that was designed with a much less magical secret, like the Secret Cabinet being sold by Anthropologie. The grey cabinet is made of poplar and appears to be a five-door dresser from the outside, but once the hinged door is opened, a sunny yellow interior with adjustable shelves is revealed. It measures 76"H x 43.5"W x 20.5"D. Price: $1,998.

I don't "get" it. Does the cabinet door to shelves inside offer a benefit over drawers? Is the appeal that it looks like a chest of drawers but it fools you because it is actually a doored cabinet? I do like the whimsy of the fact that it is not what it appears. That is the only thing though, Right?

I don't get it either. If they are going to build a "secret" cabinet, at least make the door opening congruent with where the drawer edges would be and use internal hinges so it actually looks like a dresser rather than a 50 dollar novelty bookshelf picked up at K-Mart.
