A Sneak Peek Inside Kanye West's Apartment

When celebrities decorate their homes, they tend to go all out with their designs. They have plenty of money on hand to do so, of course, but more importantly, these celebs are looking to make their homes into retreats that can serve as a sanctuary in a world filled with paparazzi. Singer Kanye West's brand-new New York apartment, which is being designed by Claudio Silvestrin, is tranquil and minimalist to an extreme degree, with the sort of layout that only a ridiculous amount of money can buy.
Above, a view of the kitchen is shown. More pictures are after the jump.

Wow, I feel more relaxed just looking at it. Not for everyone, i'm sure, but I can dig the use of shades and minor color differences. Very euphoric.

Ok this is way to minimalist for my liking although it is a nice contrast to some of the ridiculous bling you see in hiphop.

I'm in real estate in Manhattan, and what he did completely devalued that apartment. If it is actually a one bedroom as pictured then it would be the most overpriced 1BR in the building for sure. Celebs are cool and all, but you don't pay more for a place because one lived there. I like Kanye, this I dont like.

hideous

I like it. There's just enough warmth coming through from the stone and wood but I hope some colour is introduced in soft furnishings and decorative pieces. Light, neutral greens, browns and shades of grey work really well in this space. For added depth, reflective surfaces such as brushed copper and silver would also work well.

Honestly, thats how I would make my place look if I thought I was a god.

You cant see anything in there, its too light, I cant believe he paid all this mula for it but all the minimalist stuff makes him sound like a hippy. This "masterpiece" is a poor hideous excuse of art and the designer is the one to blaim. She/He shouldnt have gone along with something hideous as this. He should make it more lucturious and palacy and hotelish and richer.
If anyone thinks the same thing I do give me a holla

covyzoo Jan 29th 2007 9:29PM
Where's the furniture? You have to be kidding that someone actually spent money to make their home look so sterile and cold.
Ghetto Chef Jan 29th 2007 9:27PM
That's a damn shame! And what's really messed up about it is, that he paid a lot of money for that cemetary look a like crib....
laur-Ahhh Jan 29th 2007 9:44PM
One word....weird.
jackie Jan 29th 2007 9:44PM
It's way too boring. THERE IS NO FURNITURE. It seriously looks like a jail cell or something. Come on Kanye where are you trying to go with this seriously.
v Jan 29th 2007 9:47PM
stupid, just plain stupid. It's so impractical not even he will feel at home. But you know what they say
"People with taste should get money. Those with money should get taste" It's cool for a gallery or museum. I agree w/ NY real estate. He'll never get the return he put into it
