Thinnest Phone Ever
Hot on the heels of Anton's post, here's the skinny on the thinnest phone period. And guess what, it's a Samsung! Another shocker: they beat their own record. This is getting a bit ridiculous. None-the-less, the Ultra Edition 5.9, and it's a whole millimeter thinner than it's predecessor. Will this spur up rumors of easily broken phones like with the last one? Will it ever be available in the States? Will anyone care?! Yes, no, and probably.[Via Engadget]

"dude, do you have a toothpick?"
"no man, but here's my mobile."

Haha. I also like a competing blog's title for their post on it; "...sets bad example for teenage girls."

This reminds me of that tiny phone on zoolander. Ok it doesn't look the same but it was created due to the same kind of thought stream.

Just think, some of us started out using the 'Brick Phone' and were happy with that. It's amazing how far the phones have come.

I currently own a Samsung T-509 which was the thinnest phone availible at the time I purchased it. And guess what!!! I hate it!!! I miss my Nokia 3220 dearly! Battery on the samsung sucks, difficult menu to navigate thru, custom wallpapers leave large white borders, can't zoom into already stored pictures like on the nokia, can't record phone calls like nokia, can't record audio for more than a minute at a time, can't record video for more than 15 seconds, can't flip thru menu during phone calls (ie: to find a number for a friend while speaking, and can't text while speaking),speakerphone option requires very good reception to be useful, the sendbox doesnt record when you sent the text, it sends messages too slow and all the games on it suck!! On the plus side it is the nice display, endless memory and very surprising durablity. Samsung really needs to address these issues before I'd buy another one again because who cares how thin it is if it can't handle my needs like how a Nokia can.

first anorexic actors and singers, then all the normal people when way thin :0, now phones are coying suit?/?/?/ Pathetic!! (but it is a cute phone:)

OMG...it would take me all of two seconds to drop and break that thing. Why do you need to have a phone that thin? If you put it in your pocket, it would accidentally dial people's numbers and/or possibly completely screw up your phone from punching in codes or whatever that you shouldn't be. How ridiculous. It probably doesn't even have a camera.

Still not small enough to implant!
Barum Jan 24th 2007 5:56PM
Hmm... Why not just take out the mic and speaker, put all the guts in a wristwatch, and sell a Bluetooth earpiece along with it? Easier than digging in your pocket/purse for the phone... Less chance of breakage, too. Dunno about you, but I never left my watch in my pocket, and broke it when I sat down...

Wait, wait....if this trend continues phones will disappear all together. We will be left with those annoying voices in our heads,"Mom, is that you?"
Slick Jan 24th 2007 6:16PM
could you say "it's not the size that counts, it's how you us it" apply to this phone?
Slick Jan 24th 2007 6:19PM
I guess you could say "it's not the size that count's, it's how you use it"

It has a camera, not really cute, though. You can click on the pic at the top of the page and see more images.

This is nothing! When I was with Ameritech, pre-Verison Wireless, there was an actual "test town" of mobile phones, in Indiana. There were phones like on Star trek The Next Generation, worn as buttons, but marketing showed that people prefered to inter-act with their phones, like open them, or slide them, so these phones were never produced. This phone is nothing special.
