Ultrasonic Facials, A New Skin Care Trend
The latest skin care treatment uses water and electricity to create better skin. The new trend in facials is the ultrasonic wet dermabrasion treatment using the Dermasound machine. The treatment is a three-stage system that uses low frequency sound waves to perform aesthetic services. The skin is cleansed with antioxidant-rich Glymed products, exfoliated and then moisturized. Dead skin cells are removed with ultrasonic water then ultrasound is used to push anti-aging and anti-inflammatory vitamins deep into the skin and then microcurrent therapy is applied to recharge and balance skin. Facials using Dermasound are available in spas around North America and generally cost around $100 for a one-hour treatment. The treatment is supposed to help with both acne and aging.[via The Vancouver Sun]

I'd recently had a dermasound facial done and was not pleased with the outcome. I believe it gives you youthful looking skin, however, I experienced an inflammatory reaction (puffiness, redness, and irritation) from my cheekbones to directly under my eye area. I also now have ligther patches on my face. There is a white line of discoloration on my face which I did not had before the dermasound facial. The only benefit I've gotten out of my experience is a smoother face. I about to see a dermatologist and hopefully can get my "before" face back into works.
Sincerely,
Not a satisified client

I have had a couple of ultrasonic dermabrasion facials and do in fact see immediate results with my skin looking more youthful and alive even days after the treatment. I also do not feel like my skin feels heavy or is layered with product at the end of my treatment. I recommend this treatment.

I have had this treatment and I feel that it is one of the only things that work. Instead of the full facial I get a mini of this procedure and then a glycolic peel with it, I find that the procedure really cleans deep done and then the glycolic does its thing. My acne was visiablly less red, the swelling went down and by the next day there were major imporvements in my skin. Give it a shot, my treatment was only 30 dollars, not to much to lose.

I had dermasound, I have very very dry skin, and found it only exfoliated it a little, not as much as mircoderm. Additionally, a day later I had (and still have) a metallic taste in my mounth....Not sure why, but it is very disheartening. I paid over 100 dollars for the Dermasound and still had to exfoliate my skin the next day, because it left my dryer than before, even with the Product Pushed into my skin. BEWARE: this is electricity and ultrasound. So, if you have a pacemaker, DONT DO IT...it could cause serious problems...and for the record, ultrasound over cancerous areas can cause a tumor to grow, so if you have a tumor in the head or sinus, this could make it worse or spread the cells. More education is needed on this form of treatment. Be Careful.

Hi,
Thanks for the info, I really appreciate it. I recall reading a bit more about this at Femail.com.au... but then again, I could be wrong. But the site’s filled with lots of stuff, great content and weekly comps!
Cheers
