Meadowbrook, Pennsylvania, Estate of the Day

Some times you have just have to step away from the insane real estate markets, from Palm Beach and Aspen and Montecito and find an amazing home that is not in a "hot spot." Case in point, today's massive home in Meadowbrook, Pennsylvania. This mansion has has nearly 11,000 square feet of spa that includes five bedrooms, a large kitchen, a home theater and a massive great home. The formal dining room has a huge mural and room for a very large dinner party. There is also a huge poolroom and a tavern area with a large bar and an exercise room. The house sits on over two acres that includes a pool with a waterfall. The home is listed at $3.1 million. After the jump, a bar big enough for the whole neighborhood.

Very nice house and a great value! I never thought I'd say that up 3 million bucks, but it really goes to show what you can get for your money in certain markets. However, that kitchen really doesn't seem to go with the rest of the house - kinda odd.

Meadowbrook is a beautiful and truly upscale area right outside of Philadelphia...Diedre I thought you were cool until you disparaged my hometown!

Don't feel bad #2.....everything in that state is boring. Not just Meadowbrook.

Although, it's not the Main Line (Lower Merion, etc.), Meadowbrook is a very nice area. The meandering streets are beautiful. However, this home (which was originally listed for 4.2 Million) is on one of the ugliest streets in the area. Stockton Road and Herkness Drive have similar hideous homes for people with no taste. There are some homes that are much bigger and resemble elemenatary schools. One home has a giant portico that looks like it came off of a Motel 6. Next door to this estate is a hot pink (no joke) faux itailian villa fit with tacky lion statues. Across the street a new stucco house that was recently painted bright yellow. However, there are a two new homes that are very nice with fine stone facades.
