'Tis the season for sexy ways to tote your wine. While yesterday's Ecco Domani bags seemed a pretty fancy way to carry around a $7-10 bottle of wine, today's wine and wine bag are equally matched. Pucci and Veuve Clicquot have partnered up on a bottle of 1996 Veuve Clicquot La Grande Dame wrapped up in a two-part ensemble. For carrying, there is a drawstring bag that bears a typically ebullient Pucci print. Inside, the bottle is dressed is a black sleeve with a Pucci swirl that will keep the champers cool for another two hours.
The bottle sells for $199.

What is the cost of the champagne without the dressinng?

Cute, but I shall pass and just get the booze without the bag. If you can buy it w/o, which I am sure somwhere you can.

Grande Dame '96 usually sells for 125-140 IF you can find it....I pay 110.00 at wine warehouse in SW Florida

Two days ago Sam's (a membership warehouse store) was selling the plain bottles for $130.00, in North Central FL. Cheers!

Even if you can't afford to pay over a 100.00 for this bottle...you can still by the brand's champagne for $39. That's how much my husband and I pay for it here in Alaska. Of course, Dom cost a little under $150.00 and taste a tad better, but I rather enjoy both.

I will NEVER pay that much for the alcohol. And I don't give a rip if it's in the cover or plain. Who cares after they get drunk lol
These days people are obsessed way too much with the look, cars, tags on their clothes and other shit that don't even matter.
Go buy food for homeless kids instead of wasting money on rich designers' crap and make them even richer.
Carol Dec 9th 2006 6:36PM
I don't think a Luxist blog would be complete without a wanna be posting giving the money to a homeless person. As far as the champers, I doubt I'd buy the bag for myself, but its a nice presentation for a very nice gift.

Veuve Clicquot is often on sale at Von's Pavilion this time of year for about $40.00.

Please don't confuse the Veuve Cliquot Yellow Label at Von's for $40.00 with the vintage Le Grande Dame which typically sells for $100 - $120.

Carol #7 go and screw your ugly dumb self.
There are actually people that GIVE stuff to homeless and buy them clothes and food.
So you can go ahead and crawl back to the hole that you came from cuz no one cares what your miserable self thinks lol

For the money, I'd rather be drinking a bottle of Bollinger's La Grande Annee. But I'm sure the Pucci bag will become a collector's item that ends up selling on Ebay one of these days.

ouch ... suppose if you want it buy it, if you don't, pass on it. $40 isn't a whole lot for a nice gift ... however $140 may be going over the top. Depends on what the gift is for ...someone gave us $60K in cabinets for $28K so a nice dressed bottle of champagne may be a nice gesture ... maybe even too little ... it's all what's in your heart ... not what others think. Live, love and laugh and have a super holiday!!!
