Luxist Holiday Guide: The Gentleman's Gift Guide

What to get the guy who has everything? Sure, it may sound cliched, but this year, why not actually find something unique and original instead of the old reliables. The following is a list of gift ideas that are sure to surprise and leave a lasting impression. To tell the truth, these are actually things I'm hoping to find under the tree myself, but the odds aren't in my favor of that happening.
See what's under the tree after the jump.

Gothic Revival Corner Bar
Presuming the gentleman you're buying for isn't a tea totaler, this present is bound to be a favorite gift. This corner bar is perfect for the ultimate game room and features elaborately carved columns and screens. Decorative mirrors and a stained glass canopy give a baronial air to this personal brew pub. Available from Great Gatsby's of Atlanta.

Spoon Bathtub
Hopefully, the guy that gets this present won't take it as a not-so-subtle hint that he needs to bathe more often but as a piece of functional art. This bathtub, designed by G.P. Benedini, is an artful representation of basic forms and simple functions. Built of a quartz composite, the tub is a comfortable 72 inches in length and 39 inches wide. The tub is available in a sand color as well as the simple white and would be the perfect addition to any gentleman's bath. Get yours from Moss.

Supercharged Range Rover Sport
I include this item for my own pleasure, but who wouldn't like to this under the tree? A new derivation of the classic Range Rover, the supercharged sport edition beefs up the V8 to a handsome 390 hp on top of some sweet 20" tires. Inside, the normal refinement of Range Rover swaddles the driver in luxury. While it may give the appearance of a rap mogul, few gentleman would turn down a nifty ride like this. Visit your local Land Rover dealer.

Allen Brothers Wagyu Beef
What red-blooded male doesn't enjoy the taste of a perfectly cooked steak? Given the American Male's love of beef, I found it more that appropriate to include it on this gift list. But no simple sirloin would do here. No, we require exotic Wagyu Beef, wonderfully flavorful and richly marbled. These Kobe-styled steaks come from cows that live the high life enjoying beer and liquor infused mash. Certified 100% hormone-free, this beef is all natural and great tasting. Get a sampler pack from Allen Brothers.

Eames Lounge Chair
Every man needs a chair. A special, for-him-only chair. For some, it's the ubiquitous recliner which breaks all rules of modern style. For others, something more refined is required. If the man in your life is needing a new chair, why not introduce him to one of the legends of American design. The Eames Lounge chair is a wildly comfortable chair perfect for reading or watching TV. This special 50th anniversary edition is covered in an exotic Santos Palisander veneer and rich black leather. Available from Design Within Reach.

Sheared Beaver Hat
With the arrival of cold weather across the country and not enough vacation time to spend it all in Palm Beach, it becomes necessary to protect oneself from the elements. If you have a gentleman friend who dares the cold with an uncovered head, perhaps it's a hint for you to buy him a nice hat. Barneys New York has a super-cool hat made of Canadian beaver fur that is simply perfect for those frozen, blustery days of winter. Sure, it has a little campy-ness to it with fold down ear flaps, but your head will be thanking you for covering it in luxurious warmth.

Zoltar
OK, this present is for the kid at heart. A really BIG kid at heart. A great novelty for the game room, this animatronic fortune telling machine is sure to predict good times for all who use it. Zoltar will wave his hands over his crystal ball and speak one of 16 spoken fortunes and give you one of 23 printed fortunes on the famous cards. Although it's for novelty use only, we recommend keeping young children away from this machine, you never know what might happen. From Hammacher Schlemmer.

Innsbruck Carryall by Vuitton
Before you jet off to Vail or St. Moritz, be sure that the gentleman you are traveling with has a proper bag. Nothing says "I love you" like Vuitton. So, try and snatch one of this season's special bags before they disappear. This suede bag has a decidedly masculine feel and can carry a few changes of clothes and 2 pairs of shoes, perfect for that weekend getaway.

Armana Freestanding Sauna
When the temperature gets cold outside, why not heat things up with a sauna. This personal home sauna is the perfect addition to the home gym or spa. Built of aromatic Canadian Cedar, this sauna plugs in anywhere and features a sound system for total relaxation. This sauna uses infrared heating and in much safer than other kinds of home saunas. Get a guy one of these and things are certain to heat up! Get one at Frontgate.

Zebra Skin Rug
I don't care if you have issues with fur usage. Yes, it's real and looks fabulous. Let's face it, most American gentlemen won't get the chance to go on a big game hunt on the Serengeti, so why not stroke the big hunter's ego by getting him a trophy worthy of Hemingway. You could choose to put it on the wall or use it as a rug. I'd put it on the floor but that's not so I could put more dead things on the wall. I generally think that one animal print per room is more than enough. No worries here, the hides are perfectly legal and not endangered. This pristine rug is available from High Sierra Furs.
