The Lancer Goes Global

We've seen a few spy-shots of the new Lancer, but today we finally get to see the concept artist's sketches for what some are calling the most important design in Mitsubishi's 90-year history. With a posture very near to the ground, it's relatively long hood, a mean "shark nose" and uniquely deep "eyes", it's very attractive even if it doesn't blow the lid off of emblematic designs of Ferrari or Lamborghini. The notable bit is, instead, it's ambitious design/marketing theory – called "Project Global" – that will end up putting this car on the international radar after it debuts in Detroit. We wouldn't be surprised if certain German auto makers adopted this theory in the near future, leveraging this "flexibility required to accommodate regional needs and regulations as well as market trends and new customer demands in markets as diverse as Japan, North America, Russia, Asia-Pacific and Europe."
