Which Is More Luxe Sirius or XM?
With two new satellite radio deals announced recently, one for XM (Porsche) and one for Sirius (Bentley) I got to thinking, which of these two major satellite radio providers is considered the more luxe based on the brands they associate with. Certainly Bentley and Porsche are of fairly equal cachet, perhaps Bentley has the edge given that the average price of their cars is a bit higher. Looking back over the different brands associated with the two companies I would have to give the nod for better luxe placement to Sirius. Let's take a look at some more evidence based on our past reports:Limited edition cars:
The XM radio is in the Richard Tyler Saturn Sky
The Sirius radio is in the Saks Mercedes
Hotels:
Hyatt paired with XM radio
The W offers Sirius suites
Oh, and the Sirius radios are also already in Rolls-Royces. Game, set and match to Sirius.

I have XM in my Chevy Malibu, and Sirius in my Chrysler Town and Country. I can't really argue about which is more luxe, but I can argue that XM is better. The techonolgy is better, as I rarely lose the signal in my car (XM), but it always drops when going under a bridge or too close to tall trees in the minivan(Sirius). Thrown in the fact the XM carries MLB, and doesn't have much in the way of DJs on the music channels, and it's a slam dunk. Sirius thinks we pay $13/mo to listen to DJs jabber on, while XM thinks we just want to hear music. XM is right.
It's no small benfit that my HT receiver also works with XM. I don't know of any manufacturers of Home Theater recievers are goign out of their way to promote compatibility with Sirius.
