Actually, I am familiar with Jan's product and it does seem to work very well, perhaps by prolonging the growth phase of the lash follicles. In fact, we prescribe the product here at Bauman Medical Group. However, it only seems to lengthen the existing lashes and it needs to be used every day. Jan's product costs about $160 per bottle. If lashes have been damaged by trauma (accidents or hair-pulling conditions), then you are likely to still need eyelash transplantation. Keep in mind also that once the transplant is completed, the results are permanent and the lashes will only need to be trimmed and curled. A number of people who used Jan's product have already come in for the eyelash transplant procedure to increase the number of lashes in their eyelids. It's kind of like using Rogaine plus hair transplantation--using one does not negate the other. In fact, the results are multiplied when you use both the medication and the procedure together.
