Armand De Brignac is the New Cristal
After denouncing Cristal, the luxe drink of choice of rap artists for many years, Jay-Z was left with a tough decision as to which champagne could replace it as a sign of opulence in rap/music culture. It appears that the artist has decided to (unofficially) endorse Armand De Brignac now, featuring it in one of his new songs as "gold bottles with the ace of spades." It seems like a good choice based on the bottle alone.
Armand De Brignac has been produced by a family owned vineyard for over two hundred years and has only just started to be imported from France. It is said to have notes of flowers, citrus, dried fruits and brioche.

I TOTALLY AGREE!!!
14. Could someone explain to me why people insist on copying an uneducated, foul mouthed, pants around his ass rapper? HE PICKS THE CHAMPAGNE BECAUSE THE BOTTLE IS GOLD???? Personally, I'm tired of seeing kids dress like slobs.

I can't believe this is a newsmaker. I can't believe JayZ uses his name for such frivolity. I can't believe that everyone is following nonsense. I can't believe people want to buy this and it's not helping anyone with anything of substance. I can't believe what's important to some...

To quote someone:
" the reason he looks for a new champagne to endorse is because he is a business man. "
Please he's not even cashing in on it. If here were that would be one thing, but he's not. Young one, you sure have a lot to learn. I don't know where you live, but where I live, yes boys (I do mean boys) still wear their pants hanging off their ass!!!!

Instead of worrying who is drinking what and how people are spending their money. We should be trying to find a way to help the homeless, help people who can't afford health insurance, get people of welfare and teach them a trade. Instead of talking about others on how they are spending their money on this and that, we need to look within ourselves and see how we can help. We might not have millions like famous people, but if we each give two or three dollars to a cause we can do a differnce.

Personally, I think this whole 'Cristal' issue is getting a little bit boring. We all know the MD has issues, but I think what he has succeeded in doing is keep his product name going, because at every interview Jay-Z does, he's gonna be asked what the new drink is, now that he doesn't drink 'Cristal'. In actual fact, eventhough he's trying to boycott 'Cristal', he is advertising for them. We should just let the whole thing go.

Kepp using the race card people....only hurting your own race. It's kind like the little boy who cried wolf too many times...If you don't know, people stopped comming to his aid. Get over it!

I agree, Jay-Z is one of the few rappers, that goes about his business with style and class. I attended his tour in '04 and was very impressed with the way he was flowing and partying. It was my first rap show and I'm black!!! And let me say that there were more white people there than black, he called a mature man(in his 50s)on stage with him to rap and dance a little..It was alot of fun, the man was white, and he had it going on! As far as the "Negro Brew" thing going on, that was just out of place. Jay-Z reaches out to all people, and we must remember it is "us" buying his records that keeps "him" buying that expensive stuff!

This comment is for GOGIYMS just to inform you Jay-Z owns to clubs and he does cash in on the endorsements. Let me put it for you so you can understad. Jay-Z talks about this new drink and when people go to his clubs, they gonna want to buy his drink that he is endorseing because they want to fit in. So if he sells the drink in his club and people are buying it he is making money. Now I hope you understand how he makes his money.

Why the hell would anyone want to pay hundreds of dollars for a bottle of champagne? That is an ABSOLUTE WASTE... especially when the money could go for something worthwhile, such as contributions to a good cause like VH-1's "Save the Music" Campaign, which is about saving music education programs in our nation's schools. Or how about a nice contribution to the Make A Wish Foundation or Habitat For Humanity?
Personally, I am quite UNIMPRESSED with rappers, their so-called "music", and all their flashy houses, cars, and "bling-bling" type of jewelry!! And with having said that, how about listening to some REAL soul singers, like Isaac Hayes, Barry White, the Queen of Soul (Aretha Franklin), Sam & Dave, and Al Green? Or how about REAL blues musicians, such as John Lee Hooker or Muddy Waters? That rap stuff is GARBAGE, coming from a bunch of ghetto-gangsta wannabes!!

I find it astonishing that you guys argue back and forth about what was meant by this "racist" quote but completely miss the more important point that there is some truth behind this. Here's a question, What can we do to build our kids self esteem so that they aren't so easily led by the industry and think for themselves even more.

Terrance asked the following question: Here's a question, What can we do to build our kids self esteem so that they aren't so easily led by the industry and think for themselves even more.
Answer
Name our children after a drink or a car or a shoe

I think there are several of you who need to use the spell check feature...Now as far as Jay-Z is concerned, I must agree with Max. He seems to be very classy and quite refined. He is a business man not a thug. Jay-Z is also hooked up with one of the most classy women in the business.
As for the Champange...I could care less what they (rap artists etc.) spend there millions on. As long as they don't forget where they came from and continue to give back to the community.
Let's keep it real, if we could afford it we would probably be drinking Cristal, Brignac and some more shyt.
Though I do not indulge in alcoholic beverages at all...I wonder if there's a diet Pepsi in a gold can??
Things that make you go ... hmmmmmmm...
