Armand De Brignac is the New Cristal
After denouncing Cristal, the luxe drink of choice of rap artists for many years, Jay-Z was left with a tough decision as to which champagne could replace it as a sign of opulence in rap/music culture. It appears that the artist has decided to (unofficially) endorse Armand De Brignac now, featuring it in one of his new songs as "gold bottles with the ace of spades." It seems like a good choice based on the bottle alone.
Armand De Brignac has been produced by a family owned vineyard for over two hundred years and has only just started to be imported from France. It is said to have notes of flowers, citrus, dried fruits and brioche.

I understand this site is geared to those enjoying a "luxist" lifestyle so to whomever it may concern-- when composing an editorial on luxury items at least spell check the items you are reporting on. I.E "crystal" is a stone you may rub for luck or wear around your neck, "Cristal" is a champagne-- recently spurned by Jay - Z after years of unreciprictaed promotion. Thanks

If we're going to be smart luxists, then we should spell the word U-N-R-E-C-I-P-R-O-C-A-T-E-D correctly. You're right...it wouldn't hurt to spell check.
Thanks.

Dwayne - read who made the post and you'll know what is meant by "Negro Brew." What's unfortunate is how many people are waiting to see what someone else is drinking in order that they can decide what they need to drink. As intelligent, responsible adults we ought to be able to prioritize our lives and decisions in such a manner that it maters not what Jay 'Z' drinks. Besides why aren't we interested in what Jay 'Z' is reading or what classes he is taking, or what he is investing in. These are the aspects of his life that we might actually learn something from. It's simply amazes me how we as a people will go out and spend our hard earned money on a $100+ bottle of alcohol (not to mention the clothes, shoes, etc.) simply because a multimillionaire drinks it or is seen with it, or maybe said it in a song. Are we that dumb, shallow and easily led? When he finishes a glass, he's still rich. When you finish a glass, you're even more broke. Pontificate on that my people.

Could someone explain to me why people insist on copying an uneducated, foul mouthed, pants around his ass rapper? HE PICKS THE CHAMPAGNE BECAUSE THE BOTTLE IS GOLD???? Personally, I'm tired of seeing kids dress like slobs.
Trish Oct 21st 2006 6:58AM
I seldom drink but the golden ace is great. I prefer cappuccino made in my DeLonghi brewer I bought from http://www.eHenrys.com.

ummm fellas, paula neal mooney looks really dark to me, or at least mixed from the photo on the blog. i thought it was socially acceptable for people to insult or criticize their own race because lord knows everyone cries when its coming from another.
rather than point out a silly racial comment over champagne that many people in your community can't afford (hell i wouldn't pay hundreds of bucks for that bullsh**, you know how much beer that'd get me?) why don't you do something productive like promote artists that don't lead the greedy lifestyle (at least in the videos) drinking stuff that could pay many people's rent, or at least their car payments?

Ironically, "michael", your own post has a spelling error in it. "Reciprictaed" is spelled "reciprocated". Perhaps you should think about using spell check as well.

Jay Z is one of the few rap artists that doesn't wear his pants around his ankles. He is one of the few that has the class to dress in suits and ties and try to bring some decorum to an otherwise rediculous world.

Negro brew is racist?? Have I been a racist all these years for contributing to the United Negro College Fund???
John Oct 21st 2006 8:22AM
This is half of what's wrong with our society. The poor urban kids are getting bombarded onstantly with images and messages glorifying the many ways which they'll get to spend their millions once they become ... rap stars or NBA players. Problem: if you neglect school and work and in fact become one of the 99.999999% of those same kids that DOESN'T go platinum or play for the Knicks, you're screwed. Nobody's telling them that. If you get pulled over with coke and a loaded nine in the car, the record companies or the front office won't be sending a lawyer with the cash for bail. Nobody's telling them that, either. Kids ... the work comes first, then the prize. So for now, forget the two-hundred-dollar bottles of champaigne ... forget the "crib" ... forget the "imp my ride" ... Stay in school and get a job.
