80 million viewers watching The Beatles on the Ed Sullivan Show, thier first appearance in The United States is really what made them so greatly known and the reason why they sold so many records, became so famous overnight. This went to John Lennon's head and helped to turn him into the megalomania person he became. The other thing unfortunely is that only 6% or less attend Church in England today, and was probably a similar percentage when John was growing up, creating the more agnostic, liberal society of little moral values which is apparent there today in many ways, and also helped to make John what he became in life eventually. If we are not careful here in the U.S A., the same thing will happen to our Country and is moving in that direction as well. I wrote, sang, and eventually recorded a song entitled "Do You See Me In Your Dreams" cut # 9(www.FredLeonard.com)which I was influenced by John Lennons music at the time I miss this part of him, God hopefully rest his soul.
