John Lennon's House For Sale

The musically-related real estate keeps coming. The latest is John Lennon's former home in Britain. The six-bedroom home outside Weybridge, Surrey, is where he lived as the Beatles rose to fame. Lennon, his wife Cynthia and son Julian lived at the house from 1964 to 1968. According to the article in Bloomberg, in1968, while Cynthia was in Greece, Lennon brought Yoko Ono to the house known as Kenwood. Cynthia Lennon returned home to find Yoko in her house and wearing her bathrobe. Oh if these walls could talk. The home, which also has a playroom, sauna and swimming pool is up for sale for 5.95 million pounds ($11.1 million).

As for the Lennon house. A very nice house as by the pictures...as for the man...definitely human! A great musician but he had a lot of turmoil inside.
As I remember things... His parents split and when he was young thought his father ran away. His mother died as a pedestrian being run over by drunk police.{ Bobbies?}Then he lived with Aunt Mimi.He wanted to be a rock star to get "chicks"...got Cynthia pregnant and they got married, then the Beatles skyrocketed to fame and fortune. He tried to hide the fact from the public that he was married but an interviewer accidentally spilled the beans. Many fights between John and Cynthia
and it seems that fact was inserted into the song Getting Better..." I used to be cruel to my woman... I beat her and kept her apart from the things that she loved...man I was mean but I'm changing my scene now I'm doing the best that I can..."
The rich and famous life really caught up with him.
He had a lot of problems to overcome, like all of us, but he did put in an effort to get off drugs.." Cold Turkey.." stay away from promiscuity and adulterous relationships...Can't remember the exact title of the song where he wrote about that challenge, and getting out of the world of business and music to be a home dad." Watching the Wheels".
Now that he is gone, I just hope that the loving God that created him and died for him has had mercy upon his soul.." You don't take nothin' with you but your soul!...sticks! XXXX..

Speaking of John & "Oko"...is there a better post-Beatles record album than "Double Fantasy"...? Listen to it...nothing any of the other three did after the bands' breakup comes close. Though all the Beatles were uniquely talented, it was John's ego ambition and energy that powered the group. When that focus shifted to Yoko -- and why shouldn't have...she was and is a hell of a lot more interesting than Paul -- the bands days were numbered. Cheers to all you John Lennon fans...he represented the best in all of us. People who call Yoko ugly are merely revealing their own ugliness!

jeez-they're tryin to sell a house-not dig up a grave-shame on all of you with your negative comments-John Lennon would be the first one to say that he was less than perfect-I love the Beatles-John is my favorite-he loved Yoko-if you can't handle that-get a life!

For any Lennon fan, if you go to the Hard Rock Cafe at Universal Studios in Florida and ask to see the Lennon Room, the manager will let you tour it if it's not busy. I've seen it twice! It was soooo great being in there- the piano with the autographed keys, the Lennon suit, the wall hangings. A lot of War is Over, Peace, Love stuff. You have to ask to see it because they don't advertise it. I was thrilled to have had the chance.
As for the John book, I didn't get that Cynthia said the only reason they married was because she was pregnant. I got the whole loving relationship, the chemistry between them, etc. If you want to read Cynthia walking in on John and Yoko, she spells it out totally. It sounded like a set up on their part, almost as if John's personality had changed totally from that moment on. I like watching the John and Yoko Mike Douglas and Dick Cavett cd's but I prefer John and Cynthia. Yoko basically controlled everything the man did but if he didn't want to be controlled, he wouldn't have allowed it. I guess she was a surrogate mother type, basically. Who knows.

I think # 144 says it well...but even if I had the money, I don't think that I would buy the house. The past is the past and none of us was meant to live there forever. The Beatles music was meant for that time and all of life that was going on at that time.
The musical genius will never really fade but anyone who did not live the late 50's and early 60's can never completely appreciate what a difference Beatle music was to what was already popular from the 50's.
Anyway, unless I was a really serious musician and the house had many affects from that era, I would not pay any more money than it would normally draw in the market for that neighborhood.

I was around when the Beatles came from England. Lennon was no more talented then the other guys but he sure had lousy taste when it came to women. That Yoko was a tramp. Their music lives on though.

I was in the third row at one of the Beatles first concerts here in America. It was riveting and fun to me.. a ten-year-old...However, when in the late sixties, all the drugs, free love, lack of immorality, etc. took center stage, that all changed. I think John Lennon was a disgrace of a human being. I think Cynthia and young Julian were spared. There is no word to describe the likes of Ono! To think these two are revered by many makes me sick! Just shows where celebrity and money leads to.

Correction to above .....It should read free love, and immorality not lack of immorality....sorry with the editing!!!!

yoko was so ugly; john was really in to drugs when he met her. or he was blind that women was a dog.

A lot of people were about peace and love.A lot of people loved humanity, except face to face.Lot of people didnt practice what they preached.
It was still wrong for Yoko to being wearing Cynthia's robe and rubbing it in her face.
At least Cynthia got remarried to a nice man...good for her:)

John was also bisexual. But who cares now, everyone is dead. Yoko doesn't matter.

I THINK THERE ALL SUCK SHE IS DOG HE WAS JUST AS BAD WHAT MUSIK YOU CALL THAT GOOD MUSIK HA HA HA
jenn Nov 13th 2006 9:47PM
Who cares? I sure don't and how long ago was that and it still bothers some of you? Like this is the first time you have ever heard of a marriage spliting up because of a cheating spouse..Nobody is perfect and maybe John wanted a way out of his marriage. The only thing that should matter was that a great musician once lived and becuase of his fame it cost him his life. Always and Forever, John Lennon!

#7...lean times? When Cynthia met John he was already rich. Perhaps had Cynthia stayed home with her husband rather than go off to Greece they might still be married and he would still be alive. Don't forget about Karma and what happened to him in the end either. And no I am not on anyones side here. It takes two to make a marriage and two to break a marriage.
ertle Nov 28th 2006 2:52AM
#10 you could be correct because she was and is certainly nothing to look at.
