John Lennon's House For Sale

The musically-related real estate keeps coming. The latest is John Lennon's former home in Britain. The six-bedroom home outside Weybridge, Surrey, is where he lived as the Beatles rose to fame. Lennon, his wife Cynthia and son Julian lived at the house from 1964 to 1968. According to the article in Bloomberg, in1968, while Cynthia was in Greece, Lennon brought Yoko Ono to the house known as Kenwood. Cynthia Lennon returned home to find Yoko in her house and wearing her bathrobe. Oh if these walls could talk. The home, which also has a playroom, sauna and swimming pool is up for sale for 5.95 million pounds ($11.1 million).

The man was a creative and talented musician. That does not mean he was a moral man, a good father, a good husband etc., just a talented musician. We tend to put entertainers up on this pedestal that they do not deserve. He preached peace and smoked dope, because it was the wave of rebellion to that Vietnam era, and made for great lyrics. But he had his quirks just like everyone else, and did not always live by his creed. As for Yoko, she was a talentless tramp that had one skill, and that was to completely manipulate John. Had he lived, she most likely would have brought about his demise in the music industry and the public's eye.

the majority of these comments must be from morons with no life of their own.John Lennon was a great musician, writer, poet and visionary but he was also very human. How many of you have made no mistakes in your life ?
Live your own life and mind your own business.

No one is saying lennon was not talented at music.. BUt as a person? He's a terrible.. Very selfish and just an all around jerk if you ask me. We put these celbrities high upon a pedastal and then when we find out they ceated on theior first wife, especially in the manner in which he did--- we are surprised? Lennon and Yoko were nutcases. The way they behaved was ridiculous and I never liked Lennon much myself. paul was teh gem of teh group. He was and still is every woman's dream of a husband. Loyal to his dear wife Linda for almost 30 years was unbelievable and extremely special! Now of ocurse, he is being taken by the selfish and psycho witch, Heather but Paul will be triumphant! Paul McCartney was the GEM, not Lennon. I wouldn't live in a house JOhn Lennon lived in if you paid me.

John Lennon penned and sang the words "imagine there's no possessions", while leaving an estate of over $300 million-and bequeathed his son only $100,000. He couldn't live up to his own imagery but made sure his son did. You can't get more dishonest than that!!!!!!!

I think this really shows that so many of you need to get a life. Some of you sum of a bomb bee itches are passing judgement on a dead man over an affair he had before you were born and in which doesnt have a frocking thing to do with ya!
Learn something about Lennon and what he was trying to say, grow up a bit and get back to us. In the meantime
CRY BABY CRY, make your mother sad.

John Lennon, sadly, believed his own PR and overestimated his importance to the Beatles, to the world of music, and to the world in general at the time of the Beatles' popularity. The songs he wrote were perhaps anthems for the time, but Paul McCartney wrote the Beatles songs that eventually became the classics of today. John loved to shock - his "more popular than Jesus" statement, his marriage to Yoko, their nude photo lay-out. This should not be confused with some "guru-like" insight.

Wow! - how sad it is that you all are so eager to bash a man and a woman that you don't even know. Besides, did it occur to you that during this time 1964 - 1968 that John Lennon was still in his twenties (24-28). Has no one handled a situation poorly at that age? Given the fact that he was in the most famous band in the world and not even 30 - his life was a little different than yours and mine. Besides, in his later years (still at only 35-40) he reflected on his actions, publically apologized and began to nurture his relationship with his son Julian (whom by the way, he had at only 23 and right before the Beatles broke in America). Hopefully now that you have these facts - have put a little bit more perspective on the man's life. Or maybe you just like to judge and bash because it makes you feel good.

Awww screw!!! He ran around on Yoko too!!! With her secretary! took of to Hawaii or some place, I don't really remember now and did their thing for almost a year! They had just re united just before he was murdered. The entire disgrace is how he treated his ex and JULIAN! Didn't even pay child support. They were reduced to welfare while Julian was growing up. And the way Julian was treated after his father died is a disgrace as well. Got no respect for ONO she could have made up for all John didn't do in his lifetime. She owed it to him as much as John did!

C'mon now! Time for everyone to take a deep breath. Unless you were right there, living life alongside them, you have no way of knowing what happened. John was a brilliant man -- Growing up in the sixties was great fun and listening to the Beatles was fabulous. Still is. We would all benefit from a little more "Give Peace a Chance" and a little less sniping.

Yes, John cheated on Cynthia
Yes, John cheated on Yoko
Yes, Yoko and John betrayed Cynthia
Yes, John was a bad ex and seemed to turn his back on Julian
John and Yoko were free spirits that did deserve each other. A lot of people don't find their soul mates the first time around. He was judged harshly because he was an icon. If people can get past his faults they will be able to see all the good he did all over the world. He made us aware that just because we want peace it dosen't label us traitors!
Love the man, love his art, love his pasion!
Forgive the human errors we all make.

John Lennon was a musical genius. His PERSONAL life wasn't anyone's business....You know what they say about 'glass houses'. Get a grip. The BEATles rocked!
mike Oct 15th 2006 11:54AM
John and yoko were an icon. No one will ever replace John Lennon. If I had the money, I would but it. I am sure cynthia is well taken care of.

susan Oct 15th 2006 12:08PM
john lennon was a great man. he made mistakes like all of us, but he later apologized for them. he had a good relationship with julian before he died and always took care of cynthia and julian financially. when you meet your soul mate sometimes you forget to be kind. Yoko was his soul mate and the only woman he ever truly loved in his life. he was a genius musically. you can say anything you want about him - he didn't care what you say when he was alive and now that he's gone it doesn't matter what you think.
Elizabeth Herron Oct 15th 2006 12:57PM
i never cared for john or yoko.he got what he deserved. yoko was and still is so ugly i don't see how he could sleep with that. i never saw a picture of his first wife and son .but she had to be prettier than yoko. and the son has to look better than yoko's son. he looks like both of them .i hope his first found happiness. john and yoko were the pitts.

It's just a house, for Heaven's sakes. And the HOUSE is for sale, not redundant, misspelled comments on a previous owner's alleged actions/reputation. It existed long before any of us were born.
