John Lennon's House For Sale

The musically-related real estate keeps coming. The latest is John Lennon's former home in Britain. The six-bedroom home outside Weybridge, Surrey, is where he lived as the Beatles rose to fame. Lennon, his wife Cynthia and son Julian lived at the house from 1964 to 1968. According to the article in Bloomberg, in1968, while Cynthia was in Greece, Lennon brought Yoko Ono to the house known as Kenwood. Cynthia Lennon returned home to find Yoko in her house and wearing her bathrobe. Oh if these walls could talk. The home, which also has a playroom, sauna and swimming pool is up for sale for 5.95 million pounds ($11.1 million).

It's all about the music. A musician's personal life should have nothing to do with the talent they possess. The years John spent in this house are some of his most creative musically. Any Beatle fan would be thrilled and honored to own this house where so much Beatle history took place.

Number 18 - Steve! : ) I'm sure of it! Having once, decades ago, been forced to listen to her caterwauling, at top volume, in the backseat of a 67 Volvo, with a 3 month old baby (poor little ears!), all the way from Charlotte to Chapel Hill... Honestly, I was physically ill by the time we arrived and the result? I will never put myself at the mercy of friends with no ear, nor ride in their tiny backseats! (nor listen to people who THINK they can sing...) Thanks for the chuckle!!

All I know is that John and the Beatles made fantastic music. His personal life does not take away from that fact and the rest is heresay as none of us were there as witness. Let's enjoy his music and leave the "rest in peace" where it all belongs.

Cynthia Lennon stated in her book that the only reason her and John got married is because she got pregnant. She said they more than likely would never have gotten married if she wasn't pregnant. Why is it that John's affairs are all the sudden a big deal, and yet Bill Clinton's are overlooked more often than not? Lennon's not the first and won't be the last to have affairs.

I HEAR THE HOUSE IS HAUNTED BY THE GHOST OF JOHN. BOO

"Yoko" was nothing but a whore, her parents should have named her "Loco"...its much more accurate. Bono from U2 recently said in interview how great the Beatles "could" have been if they would not have let their personal lives screw up their careers. how true
if anybody knows the facts to how much inheritance that Julian Lennon got when his father was murdered, i would like to know. i hope he came out ok and the asian witch didn't get it all

well for all who think john lennons a real ass... kiss mine!!! to me, i didnt care what went on in that house or any other house he lived in or what happened when he was young. if you people want to rant and rave over something like that.. get a real job to keep you away from the computer! i was raised on the beatle music and loved every song!! I also applaud john's ability to move on with his life and still make music on his own. to me, there wont be another group like the beatles ever again. so if you dont have nothing else to do, go watch the soap operas on tv. that should keep you going until you find something on your neighbor to talk about.

I say it's in extremely poor taste to post John Lennon's (or anyone's for that matter) personal life, in a blog to sell his English home. Too bad the person who wrote it doesn't think about the bad form he/she used, when advertising the sale of this lovely home. Think about it. BAD TASTE!!!!!!!!!

Hey, do I have to be a citizen of Great Britain to buy Lennon's house? I'll just dig through my pocket change for the 11 million dollars!

WHY is his sex life even remotely important? The man's dead, for goodness sakes! It's a nice house. It's for sale. End of story.

Actually, Cynthia Lennon did NOT do well out of the divorce. He gave her $100,000 which was gone, and never helped her or Julian again. She is still alive, and very beautiful. If you look out on the web under her name, you'll see that she went on to develop her own life - was married twice more, did artwork and had her own art gallery, and is living on the Continent with her long-term partner ( I can see why she didn't remarry yet again ), and has kept the name of Lennon.

John and Yoko were promoting peace and couldn't maintain it in their own households. Everyone talks about how they were meant 4 each other. What about Cynthia? What about Mr. Ono? Don't their feelings count?

I think John Lennon has found out there really is a hell. He seemed to think there was no hell below.
Guess he knows better now.

John Lennon (and The Beatles)were brilliant songwriters and musicians. What he did or did not do in his personal life is really not what is important, is it? Everyone responding to this story and the statements being made are purely opinion, and I suppose everyone is entitled to that. But shouldn't we all be very careful when it comes to slinging mud about people, whether famous or not? How can you people talk about someone (dead) when you probably are most likely doing worse! #16 was right...how can you dog a brilliant musician like John Lennon when we have these low life rappers in the world today? It's all about nasty sex these days and I think it is disgusting. While I don't agree with everything John Lennon said, did, wrote or sang about, I'll take his kind of music any day of the week over this crap (RAP) they call music today. John Lennon was brilliant. Period. And is I had the cash, I'd buy that house in a heartbeat!

All you people who pretend to know what was in John Lennon's head, and knock his personal decisions are intruding on his families' privacy. You are just like photographers always forcing their way in and making their own news. Can't you just appreciate what he gave the world? All he ever wanted was for people to get along, is that really too much to ask?
