John Lennon's House For Sale

The musically-related real estate keeps coming. The latest is John Lennon's former home in Britain. The six-bedroom home outside Weybridge, Surrey, is where he lived as the Beatles rose to fame. Lennon, his wife Cynthia and son Julian lived at the house from 1964 to 1968. According to the article in Bloomberg, in1968, while Cynthia was in Greece, Lennon brought Yoko Ono to the house known as Kenwood. Cynthia Lennon returned home to find Yoko in her house and wearing her bathrobe. Oh if these walls could talk. The home, which also has a playroom, sauna and swimming pool is up for sale for 5.95 million pounds ($11.1 million).

The writer refering to the report on the Lennon house and calling people "ho's" and such, make a perfect example of what the person was talking about who refered to the rapper "50 Cent."

Lennon lived in the public eye for most of his adult life. Contrary to perception, he was just a man, with faults like everyone else, albeit he was a musical genius. I like to remember him for what he gave the world. But boy, he and his buddies did make the 60s quite exciting.

I was there for the Beatles era. And all they sung about is love and peace not like todays groups. The Beatles were one of the best. Yoko was nuts do read the book mentioned in #6. The big loser was John's first son Julian. He lost his dad big time.

John Lennon was no different from many other entertainers; snotty, arrogant and full of himself and convinced that the world revolved around him. Unfortunately, many people looked upon him as some sort of god, and still do today. Too bad he, like so many other entertainers, began believing his own press and treating all others accordingly.

All people are multi-faceted.
None of us were in the house with John and Cynthia, John and Yoko. or more importantly John and Julian.
They were ALL quite young and immature at the time. What has been said and heard is hearsay, and even so, it is none of our business!
We accept celebrities on face value, because that is ALL that we actually know about them.
That is a good thing, and we should accept each other on the same terms until we have true knowledge.
Let us remember that the great majority of people DO CHANGE over time. It takes awhile, but as one becomes older one realizes how foolish, thoughtless, cruel, or simply stupid one has been...and then, one is astonished!

Infidelity has many roots and there is more then one side to every story and I'm sure John and Cynthia had theirs. Why did she go on holiday without John? Most peole don't truly understand people of creative minds like John and his early life was most tragic.
There are places I remember.......
In my life and I loved them all....
A time to heal and and a time to forgive.....

John Lennon was the greatest singer who ever lived! He was the lead singer for most Beatles songs. So he had fun and liked women----big deal. At least Yoko made sure his needs were met when she got wore out. She cared about her man. There was never a singer more famous and there never will be! He had money to burn so more power to him.

I am surprised at how judgemental and cruel most of the comments have been about John and Yoko. They were just two people doing the best that they could under extremely extraordinary circumstances. They never signed up to be role models and should not be judged from that perspective. People who write such unfair remarks are either very immature or jealous of the man's success that he paid for with his life. Wise up!

You all need to grow up, just because a person does one thing well doesn't make them a saint. Let's see Tupac, Picasso, Monet, Curt Cobain, Janis Joplin, Michelangelo, Frankin Roosevelt, Thomas Jefferson, Ben Franklin, care to hear about anymore? Being an artist or being gifted does not make you a Mother Theresa.

What's wrong with everyone here? John was a super star and very blessed with a great talent. Let's not beat someone up for something that makes us all human. I guess I am wondering how pure you all are. We are ll impure!

RussNDC (poster of #15) is full of crap. Although most people can't seem to tell the difference in the voices of Lennon and McCartney the general rule with them was whoever wrote the song, also sang the lead vocal. So you say Lennon had very little to do with their music? Let's take a look at just one album and see which ones he wrote: On Sgt Pepper Lennon wrote and sang: Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, Being for the benefit of Mr. Kite, Good Morning, A Day in the Life. Among others he wrote, Help, I am the Walrus, Strawberry Fields Forever, In My Life, Day Tripper, Norwegian Wood, Ticket to Ride just to name a few. But my real intention here was to mention that when Lennon bought this house back in the 60's he only paid about 40,000 pounds for it.

Read "John" by Cynthia Lennon. Just came out last year. Talks about their relationship from beginning to John's death. It's really insightful. A really good book.

I'm sure most of the response to this blog are from those who didn't live through the actual times. The pure joy that the Beatles brought to the world in the 60's is something only appreciated by those who were there. We do truely live in a world of mixed up hate, and most don't have a clue what it felt like to hear the latest Beatle song come through the AM radio. Now days it seems all you can hear is a big rumble of bass accented by four letter words.
