Sam's Club Once-in-a-Lifetime Packages For 2006
Neiman Marcus isn't the only company to get epically splurgy for the holidays. Sam's Club offers several Once-in-a-Lifetime packages. The ultimate in extravagance is the Citation Mustang Jet Package which includes the Citation Mustang, S/N 510-0002, private jet transportation to Cessna Headquarters to choose your exterior and interior options, private jet transportation to pickup your new Cessna Citation Mustang Jet at the end of 2007 when it is ready and a lifetime Advantage Plus membership to Sam's Club. The package is available for purchase on November 9, 2006 and sells for $2,734,600. The other packages are a lot less pricey but a bit more ephemeral. For $71,000 you can pick up the Pro Football Championship XLI package which includes four Lower-Level Premium tickets to the Championship game in Miami in February as well as four passes to the official tailgate event before the game, playing spots for two in the Championship Games' Golf Showcase, VIP tickets to the Player of the Year Awards, access to Dan Marino's VIP party at Nikki Beach and a Samsung Digital home theater package that includes a television, DVD player, DVD camcorder and more. For $44,000 you can fly to London to see Tony Bennett play and meet him in person. The package includes backstage passes, VIP concert tickets, a signed Tony Bennett lithograph, five nights deluxe accommodations and a traditional Scottish dinner for four.

i have a friend that works for walmart. one night, after working late, AGAIN, we all met for a weekend party at her and her husband's house. after saying hello to everyone, she grabbed the tequila rose and we shared a shot. and when we asked about her day, she said this: "Sam Walton either has a special place in Hell, or he's turning in his grave." and right now, he's doing some turns. there's NO WAY this idea would sell among the rich. unless they're the type that plays the lottery. i HATE walmart and REFUSE to shop there anymore. if i need big box store stuff, i go to target or walgreens. when i was in college, i'd frequent the dollar general stores and the local grocery stores for food/snack/hygine stuff and groceries and the local stores for clothes. but i was lucky enough to live in a college town that could support walmart AND the local shops. so many places aren't so fortunate. let's take a page from uncle moneybag's book and SAVE our money, or let it work for us in stocks and bonds. do charity work. you can write it off for tax breaks and in the process meet and greet other big wigs essentially FOR FREE. by being a good steward of your money, you get more money and other NON-monetary blessings in return. you just MAY meet tony bennet for free. can't beat that with a walmart bag! ;p

Rev 14:9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive [his] mark in his forehead, or in his hand,

Well said Grace. WELL SAID. My Sister has worked for Wal-Mart for the past 12+ years, she says they're horrible. She recently transferred to one of their warehouses, and it's much better than working in their stores!

Have you noticed "The Member's Mark " is the brand name for Sam's Wholesale Club?
Andy Oct 14th 2006 2:35AM
Do you have to buy it in bulk?

I get airsick and don't like football and try to avoid it and I think most older singers need a lot of electronic help so I will stick with what I like.
A really big diamond comes to mind as long as it comes with a great security guard [male, female or dog].

What happen to making gifts by hand and cooking a wonderful meal. Is this asking too much? Keep it simple.
Anne Oct 14th 2006 3:51AM
Those packages are rediculous, but for someone like me, getting to see Tony Bennett live and meet him would be a hugely fantastic gift.
As for slashing employee bennies to increase profit, welcome to the real world. Millions of people in the WORLD work jobs similar to what Wal-Mart and its spin offs offer, for less wage and no benefits. No health, no vacation time, no nothing.
We don't really have call to growl because a huge company does it. If the US offered socialized medicine on an organized scale, we'd all be better off.
But we keep getting political types building our debt instead.
nina godfrey Oct 16th 2006 1:21AM
I'm not trying to represent any political philosophy but it just seems common sense that some people can't consume at such extravagant levels and then expect the human race to survive in harmony and at sustaining levels.

I totally agree with Grace...Costco is a much classier company, because of how they treat their employees. Do you know that Jim Sinegal makes $200K per year - with no bonuses? The bonuses go to the employees, the ones who actually do most of the work, as he said in one interview. My father worked for Walmart for seven years after his retirement, and after he was injured at work they tried their best to fire him so that they wouldn't have to pay out on his continuing care. When Sam Walton was alive, the company was classy. Now, it is just a money making machine - with the employees getting the short end of the stick!

$40,000 dollars to meet Tony Bennett, I met him at a local record store when he was a nobody peddling his first record it cost me fifty cents for the 45. A great talent for sure but not worth $40.000, I will stick to listening to him on my CD's.
shakey jake Oct 14th 2006 5:07AM

The millionaire next door, those unassuming individuals who live simply but have huge assets, shop at Sams Club and Walmart in addition to upscale department stores. These packages are aimed for the extravagant millionaire and whether or not it's a publicity machine for Sams, it will provide employment for many people, such as the workers who build airplanes, cater social events, etc. Don't turn your nose up and show a jealous side because the trickle down will keep food on the table and heated homes for many of us regular folks.

"Trailer Trash"? I really take offense to this insult. I live in a mobile home that's paid for. I raised my daughter alone on less than $30,000 a year. Unlike some other people I know, I do not lay awake at night wondering how I'm going to make ends meet tryng to keep my $100,000 home, two new cars, numerous credit cards and whatever extra in order to keep up with the people next door.
As far as the luxury of the gifts in the article, Sam's has to keep up with Neiman Marcus.
Some people just don't get it. It doesn't take a lot of money to make a home, just a lot of money to make a house.
wayne scott leclair Oct 14th 2006 6:11AM
Although kicking the idea around for a plane, wishful thinking on the private jet, little to rich for my blood, although it would be an increase as far as production due to speed comparisons, the real shame is the people whom buy something of this nature realistically may not have as much a need as a true American working man trying to get "the job done" to please the customer aka bosses of the world. In the end would it really matter ?
Nancy Oct 14th 2006 8:06AM
hmmmm....are they guaranteeing that Tony Bennett will still be alive? need to be insurance for a refund?
Tiffany Oct 14th 2006 12:40PM
Ever hear of Bill Gates? The world's first centibillionaire (over $100 billion) gives away MILLIONS and MILLIONS of his OWN money to those in need. Yeah, he could buy several of what Sams Club is selling and he should -- HE EARNED HIS MONEY AND CAN BUY WHAT HE WANTS WITH IT!!! Money didn't just fall into the riches hands (unless it's old money) these people actually worked for it. If you don't want the rich to get richer, then quit going to their movies and buying their products!! And maybe you can tell Oprah to save the millions she donates to the needy and stick it in the bank.

I would be interested in knowing whether the personal jet comes with pilot instruction. There are a few drug kingpins here in our little sector of Kentucky who could afford a truckload of jets but can't fly. Properly instructed and licensed this could be a hell of a buy. For the few well-healed in my area, this could expand the meth capabilities further out and the pseudoephedrine buys in other states and foreign countries a lot easier. Just thinking aloud.

Hey Paul. Crazy idea here. How about getting off your butt and getting some insurance for your dying wife. Or if she is really unhappy about the cuts, help her find a better job with benefits. Stop depending on other people to fix your problems.
Sams does these promotions mostly to draw attention. They simply offer eveyone, rich or poor, an excellent value. (The new Cessna Citation Mustang will retail for $1,000,000 more than what Sams is offering it at.)If you don't like them, don't shop with them.

Debora G is right on target with her Southern Trailer (FEMA 'Nawlins' Style) TRASH..Katrina's wet rats on the dole that were scattered through out our nation..and would not live on the cruse ships because they were afraid they would be shipped back to africa...and coonies from Nova S....and the Walmart, SamsClub Big Box Scum Bag store policies. I live very close to this TRASH and the Big Boxes...in fact too close to the Headquarters in Ark.... But what can one expect...."If you don't come from much, Ain't much expected from you Waltons". Thank God I had enough snyapsis in my brain firing long enough to sell all my stock in these scum bag organizations....No wonder the Brits don't like the Sams or Walmarts...
As Louisiana is now known for "stuck on stupid!" and votes in the criminals...to send back to DC for their "Cold Cash" stealing and storing in freezers...duh...
What a terrible world we live in especially around the Mississippi River exhaust.. which is know around 'Nawlins' as the "Rectxx of the Earth"....or kindly at least the Colin...duh....and SamsClub box is a bit of sxxx.......within...some describe it as cancer......
