Sunday Real Estate Round-Up

From the NY Observer's Manhattan Transfers:
--The Harkness Mansion owned by banker Jaqui Safra and his longtime girlfriend Jean Doumanian has finally sold for $46 million making it the biggest single residential deal in Manhattan history.
--Charles Osgood, the baritone-voiced, bowtie-wearing, Emmy-winning news anchor, has bought a co-op one floor above his apartment at the Osborne for $1.15 million. Osgood will likely make the apartment a duplex.
--East Village tattoo artist Jonathan Shaw has sold his mid-19th-century townhouse to Tatiana von Furstenberg for $2.45 million.

From the NY Post's Gimme Shelter:
--Robert De Niro and his wife Grace Hightower have bought the 15-room home formerly owned by Eve Weinstein for around $23 million.
--Money manager Duke Buchan III has bought a Park Avenue apartment for nearly $10 million.
--Tommy Hilfiger has picked up an apartment at The Plaza for close to $18 million.
--Russian tennis star Elena Dementieva has bought a Riverside Drive condo for $2.6 million.
--The son of Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev, Daniyar Nazarbayev has gone to contract to buy two apartments at the Cipriani residences at 55 Wall St. for $2.9 million and $2.1 million.

From Forbes Movers and Shakers:
Wendy Finerman, producer of The Devil Wears Prada is selling her seven-bedroom Holmby Hills, Calif. mansion for just under $15 million for her gated home on one acre.

From the NY Times Big Deal:
Jean-Louis Bourgeois, an architectural historian and son of sculptor Louise Bourgeois plans to create a museum dedicated to water in a small, sagging, historic wood-frame building he bought two weeks ago for $2.2 million. Mr. Bourgeois, 66, will live in part of the building and his plans for the museum include a seven-story waterfall that his mother has agreed to design.
--The theater at 31 Perry Street, once home of the New York Theater Workshop has been sold for $14.2 million.
--Jessica Klein, a television writer and producer and her husband are serial celeb home buyers. They previously bought the Hollywood Hills home of the actor Nicolas Cage and were also the ones who bought Britney Spears New York apartment.

From the LA Times Hot Property:
-Ellen DeGeneres is buying a house in the Montecito area for close to its asking price of $16.9 million.
--Jesse Metcalfe bout a Sunset Strip-area home earlier this year for about $1.3 million and then sold it a few months later for around $1.6 million.
--Saudi Prince Mohammed Al-Saud has put his 12,000-square-foot home in Calabasas on the market at $10.8 million.
