Tastoria, Virtual Wine Tasting Company Launches in the U.S.
If you can't get yourself to a wine tasting, now like so many other things, you can get the experience online. Tastoria is the new U.S. arm of the British company Virtual Wine Limited which offers wine tastings that you can enjoy from your own home. The first event for the new company will take place this Monday. It will be hosted at thhe Landing Restaurant in Marblehead, MA and you can take part online. Some New England liquor and wine shops are offering tasting packs which include a pass code for the event, six bottles of wine for tasting, three red and three white, and recipes to pair with the wine. Once online you can chat with the panelists at the event and ask questions. The event generally lasts about an hour and a half and makes a great excuse to throw a dinner party.[via Ipswich Chronicle]

This is really cool - I've tried this out in the UK with my friends and had a cracking time - highly recommended. They also have quite a few wine tasting clips & other interesting stuff on the video sites like You Tube Google & Yahoo etc - check out http://www.youtube.com/Virtualwine
