Urban Archaeology Salvage

A lot of the newer houses I profile in the estate of the day feature get a lot of their style from older elements. Where do designers and decorators find relics of glamor years past? One site full of gorgeous treasures is Urban Archeology. Their salvage section is full of statuary, fountains, gates, stained glass and more. The unique pieces come with history and high price tags. The piece shown here is over seven feet tall and is a terracotta clock originally used in the Troy New York Union Depot station. It sells for $225,000. Other pieces are lower in price and each one lists the place where it was rescued from so that you can tell the story when people ask where you found that amazing piece.
