Charity Lamborghini Sells For $500,000 To Car-Loving Lawyer

The yellow 2005 Lamborghini Gallardo tcovered with dozens of celebrity autographs that I mentioned was up for auction yesterday did quite well. It sold for $500,000 to a Houston collector who also made some other impressive purchases during Kruse International's annual Labor Day weekend auction. Not only did John O'Quinn pick up the Lambo which was signed by Regis Philbin, Hugh Hefner, Paula Abdul, Will Ferrell, Bruce Willis and others as part of a fundraiser for the Child Safety Network, he also spent $335,000 on a Batmobile used in the film Batman Forever, $250,000 on a 1938 Cadillac Town Car used by Pope Pius XII and $290,000 for a 1941 Packard limousine used by President Franklin D. Roosevelt. You may remember O'Quinn's name from last year when he paid $690,000 at a Kruse auction in Las Vegas last year for a 1975 Ford Escort GL once owned by Pope John Paul II.
