Get Yourself A Xubaz, A Luxist Giveaway
I was traveling a few weeks ago and trying to only have one carry-on and so I did not bring a purse only a laptop bag. Unfortunately I did not want to lug my laptop bag around all week so I took my wallet out. Long story short, I left my wallet in one location and didn't realize it until I was hours away and had to beg a friend to drive me back. I could have used a Xubaz. What's a Xubaz? Basically it is looks like a scarf but it also has places for your wallet, iPod, lipstick, keys and boarding pass. There are also a couple of clips that you can attach to your belt or outfit so that when you bend over to deal with your luggage your Xubaz doesn't go flopping all over the place. The Xubaz can be easily rolled up and stashed went not in use.Bernt Kuhlmann, the developer of the Xubaz, was kind enough to offer me a whole bunch of Xubaz to give away to a few of our jetsetting Luxist readers. You can win your own Xubaz, (a $60 to $80 value depending on the model) by leaving a comment about where you would wear your own Xubaz down below.

This would come in handy for overseas business travel-but I could even use this scarf for weekend outings with our dogs. Those nooks and crannies could hold chew toys, bags, food, treats, etc.

My wife, my one true love, is forever asking me to pocket her wallet, car keys, sunglasses, lipstick, etc.; because her tight jeans just do not have the space. While I am not complaining about my role as her attendant, I think she would benefit from having these items close at hand while showing others she can be smart and sexy. The concept of the Xubaz allows unfettered control over life’s necessaries with the ability to make a sharp fashion statement.

My wife would never put this down! With all the recent travel restrictions, we don't like carrying our bags anymore--adds yet another step to the already painful security process. The Xubaz is GREAT! Maybe she'd even let me put a thing or two in there (you know, just like her purse only better)!

What an excellent idea! I am in real estate and I love the idea of being able to carry my cell phone, pda and keys without lugging a bag around while showing homes. At the end of a long day of work my arms feel like wet noodles. This seems like a perfect fit, and despite all the functionality it still seems very fashionable.

I would wear my Xubaz on a plane as you suggested.

The Xubaz would be very handy when I'm working as a television news cameraman to carry lots of bits and bobs.It would come into its own when it's to warm to ware a fleece jacket but still need storage.

I think this is a genius idea!
I always have trouble carrying my purse around when i go walking or site-seeing or even to the mini-market next door.
I don't want to carry my wallet in my hand because it can easily be snatched from my tiny hand! & i am always in need of my mobile, so there's no place to carry them except a purse or handbag!
I think i would use the Xubaz anytime, anywhere!
it's trendy, practical & safe.

I would wear my Xubaz whilst spending my holidays in my fantastically expensive Swiss Alps lodge, traversing to and fro in my lavish limo. I would carry my diamond studded cellphone in it, and perhaps a few ipods if I'm feeling saucy. At night it would be draped lovingly around my solid gold designer coatrack, and as I prepare to depart in the morning for another day of excess, my dressing attendant will have it waiting for me (pre-warmed in the dryer, of course). Thanks.

This is a great accesory for the subways. I wouldn't have to lug a bag around and definetely wouldn't need to worry about pickpockets either.

Hello, I have lower back problems and parkinsons and with two preteens to keep up with I'm always having to run them here and there. I am not able to carry a purse, it is too heavy and burdensome so the Xubaz would be ideal for me. I try to still look fashionable because I am young and haven't lost my looks yet! Please send the Xubaz as soon as possible so I keep up with all my things without pain.

I'd wear it to work, because it's hard enough to juggle my laptop, lunch bag, and handbag already while looking for my keys/cell/cables. Or on a night out, because it would save having to keep track of a purse the whole time.

That Xubaz is a God-send! I travel a lot for my business, usually to out-of-the-way locales. It's hard trying to lug about with passport in one hand, coffee in the other (gotta drink that before security makes you throw it away these days), bag across the back, take your shoes off, blah blah blah. If I had a Xubaz, I wouldn't limit it's use to travel though. I could see myself wearing this for shopping excursions (when I need both hands free to browse!) or to happy hour (hate having to find a safe place for my purse!). The fact that it's a scarf means I could also take it for late evening strolls along the beach, and not be the first one to complain about being cold. Oh, and it seems like a great deterrent for pick pockets, especially the clips that keep it from flapping around. Hope I get one! Thanks.

I would wear mine all the time, every day! I hate carrying a purse, becuase I am very absent minded and can never remember where I put it, or leave it behind at meetings all up and down the east coast! If I had this fantastic product for my essentials, I wouldn't have to carry the purse at all and a huge amount of stress would be taken out of my life. All my friends would be amazed at my transformation, and they would get one too, and tell their friends, and tell their friends....

i would wear the Xubaz either to travel (which i do alot of to and from Europe) or to school. My purse never seems to be large enough to carry all those little petty things, this would be a great way to free my hands. Lots of other uses i can think of but too long of a list to type it out. Hope i get one, Thanks a ton!

The Xubax would be perfect for my high-school aged son. His backpack is already huge, and with all the electronic gear and accessories he needs during the day, this would ease his day considerably. Of course, I could use it everyday, to keep me from having to strain my back carrying all the junk I keep in my oversized pocketbook!

Wow, that thing is amazing. I would use it all the time. At gigs (to keep picks and guitar goodies in. To shows (for those times I am wearing pants with no pockets, or for travening when I just need access to all my stuff. (It is so hard to get your stuff out of a bag or pockets when you are driving or riding with someone.

I am a young businesswoman. Usually, I'm on the go meetings, exhibitions, etc... It can become quite a inconvenience trying to maintain contact with my personal identification documents (i.e. passport, driver's license, company info, social security, nametag, etc). I usually carry a briefcase or a handbag that is so large it could house my life! The Xubaz would be a great accessory, especially now that fall and winter are upon us. What a great idea!

I will be using it mostly I travel to and from work. With no Xubaz, I normally would be placing all the gadgets I use in various pockets or briefcase which is more than a hassle to manage. This seems like a really great product, having an easily accessible way to storage your personal items.
matt Aug 29th 2006 10:59AM
I would wear a xubaz (depending on the color) with a business casual look when i hate to have things in my pockets causing everything to bulge out in the oddest places (keys, ipod, pda/cell, wallet, chapstick, etc, etc). I would really like this when trying to travel "light" but still take what i consider the essentials.

I travel so much, and hate bringing my purse as my carry on. I would even wear this to class so I could leave my purse at home and just bring my wallet, bus pass, and writing things.
