If your male partner grouses about wearing jewelry because it's "too girly," we've got the answer. Tire Rings are heavy rings in silver, gold or platinum with the look of car, truck, mountain bike or motorcycle tire treads. Suitable also for female gearheads and cyclists. Prices range from under $100 to over $5,000 depending on size and metal. [via Into Gear]

The idea is GREAT, Love the Rings! Most men do not like to wear wedding rings and this will allow a more "Masculine" look! Hooray for the one who thought of it!!!

I'm a car guy but this is just plain silly. Another lame attempt to sell something no one else thought of. Lets also get tattos of our Dodge Ram logo.
Any guy who would wear this ring simply because it has a tire tread and wouldn't wear a ring without it is just a macho schmuck.

Nice rings - although if a guy is married, he should have no objection wearing a "traditional" - looking wedding ring. If any married man would buy these rings with the EXCUSE that traditional rings are too "girly" is a LIAR - or he's a FAG on the down-low. It is well knowm that the so-called "macho" types are basically insecure in their masculinity - perhaps they need a bit of "therapy".
I'm not married, but I STILL LIKE THE RINGS.

I agree with Brenda. This is male stereotyping at its worst. This item makes it look like all men's guts hang out over their undershirts while washing their pick-up truck. Give me a break!

Reminds me of the BMW..."Be My Wife"...lol..get it right guys...marry only selfless reasons and maybe just maybe the girl of your dreams will support you through the RED HOT sports car when you enter your midlife crisis just to mention one of your many gender related weaknesses...let's face it, we're with you for better or worse...

This has to be the most CORN-BALL B.S. thing I've ever seen. If you have to wear a "'Tire Ring" to feel masculine , then you have way deeper problems going on and the kind of ring you wear should be the least of your worries.

The rings are nice. But, they are useless. I still don't think it will make a guy wear a ring.
My husband wears his band, and most of his married friends wear theirs.
And, I do know that there are guys that refuse to wear them. I was told several times that most guys don't wear a band because it gets in the way.
Also, most places of employment prefer that you don't wear a ring for safety.
Then of course there are those guys that refuse to wear a ring b/c they cannot get over the "commitment" issue and the ring is a symbol of their life being over.
I say if they wear one good for them.
But, if they are committed 99.9% to their spouse who cares if they have one or not..I hardly think I that a tire ring is going to change a mans way of thinking on wearing them . Just another get rich quick scheme.

Any dork who would go for one of these could save himself some money. Just form yourself a ring from a rusty framing nail. Is that MACHO enough for ya? Morons will buy anything !!

Great rings for couples that likes novelty gags, but seriously, unless the bride bought her husbands ring that was pink and had flowers, fairies,or cute little dolphins designs without telling him till wedding day. Does it really matter how the ring looks? I'm sure most people know by now and at a good price you can personalize ring designs if one doesn't want the plain ring band. I think thoes tire ones will make a lovely add to alot of wedding ring choices. They're so cute, cool, and funny.

My parents have been married for almost 45 years and my dad has always worn a wedding band. He is an electrician and worked for 35 years at a factory repairing and maintaining all the machinery and never had a problem with his ring getting in the way or risking losing his finger. All my male friends, relatives, and co-workers who are married also wear rings so I don't agree with the comment that "most married men don't wear rings".

HMMMM. Very interesting comments!! I for one, would wear a band if I
were married and I,m in the bussiness of possibly losing a digit
because of it. Gives me a great idea though, go to home depot or
lowes, buy a gross of large nuts and make them into rings. Ya think
contractors would wear them? lmao

Good Idea! You can use the ring to brand your sweetheart. Nothing says I love you like skid marks on your wife's azz!

okay so the traditional ring brings more "jewelry" attention to you than these "tiresome" costume jewelry looking circles? I don't think so. My [very masculine] husband hates jewelry and has a simple thin gold band ... not some punk rock napkin holder.

Some "genius" at a jewelery design company came up with the idea to market rings to the macho,
anti-Metrosexual male and here's the result: a heavy, clunky ring that looks like a piece of costume jewelery you'd find in Hot Topic, next to the Slipknot t-shirts.
Which, IMO , makes it yet another failed attempt by a business to make a sale to a demographic group that doesn't usually buy their product.
