Ah, the allure of a horseback ride through the countryside is an idyllic image, bonding with nature and communing with a powerful steed. But, if you don't like the whole outdoors and animal thing, you can still get a good work out with the
Mechanical Core Muscle Trainer. Yeah, it's a fancy name for a horse riding simulator, but it gives a user the same workout you could expect from a day of riding. It's great for people who need exercise, but who have to be careful with their heart rates. Available from the always fun Hammacher Schlemmer.

Brookstone actually makes one as well too. It's called the Osim IGallop. Quite nifty if I do say so myself. The price tag really isn't that bad at $599 for a good solid work out machine.

And you can invite your friends over and charge $5 a ride!

Ouch ... I remember the last time I went horseback riding. Couldn't walk for two days afterwards. I think I'll just stick with my plain boring treadmill.
