$100,000 Cigarette Pack
Lucky Strike has been a popular cigarette brand since its founding in 1871, but to boost the popularity of the brand, BAT International has launched an advertising tour centered around a $100,000 pack of cigarettes that will be displayed at major international airports, where many duty-free cigarettes are purchased, for the remainder of the year. The pack is made of 18-ct white gold and features both a large ruby and a large diamond on the front. The rest of the package bears the traditional markings of retail packages, including a large health warning. The pack can be seen in Frankfurt in September, in Düsseldorf in November and Munich in December.

Why do artists and companies continue to make/commission luxury versions of every day goods -- those which have no whimsy or charm? Does anyone really buy these objects? Is there $100,000 worth of entertainment value to this pack of cigarettes, which isn't even interesting to look at? How about spending $100,000 on a really lovely piece of sculpture, which is permanent? I'm waiting for a 24K White Gold tampon with dangling diamond string, next.

this is just more of the anal retentive,,,,war on smoking. they are so silly.....many things worse. and many that live long and happy smoking. these ppl just do not like smoke,,and will go to any obvious opportunity to display their power and displeasure. I say ,,,,,,shut up for a change. we are tired of the diatribes. some of us like fine wines, good food, old houses, hot cars,,,,,,AND SMOKING,,,,SO SHUT UP ALREADY.
