I live very near this house and it is as gorgeous in person than photo. I have witnessed it's progress being built. Quite a sight!!!

A total rip-off of Bermuda architecture.
David Albers Aug 13th 2006 6:46AM
Dear Ms. Jennifer Arnes, what a wonderful way to let us all know you live in or around the exclusive Port Royal. Oh, by the way, houses do not look "georgeous in person". Your blog is a testament to America, where else in the world can a person who does not understand the basic mechanics of the english langauge be able to live in the lap of luxury. Boggles one's mind it does!

I would love to own this house! Only in my dreams!
Milly Aug 13th 2006 7:10AM
I guess I am sour grapes. How can anyone throw money into a house, that is only a cold sterile house. I raised my children in a three bedroom "home" that was attached on both sides. We had lots of love in our home, plus respect for each other. We put our money into a very good investment for our children. Our investment was their college. Today, they are professionals, living in middle class neighborhoods with sidewalks so that their children can ride a bike on the sidewalk, play with the children LIVING NEXT DOOR, a family street. Such a large home as the "Pink House", to me looks cold and sterile.

The Gulf is nice - Pepto Bismal is dismal. And have fun maintaining the rest.

How much extra to have it painted Sky blue? I've been saying for 30 years that Naples is over priced, but yankees keep driving price higher. Unfortunately ecology types blocked the develpment of most of golden gate so sooner or later there will be no space left to develop. They are akredy building on tomato fields in Immokolee, 30 miles inland and trying to call it Naples.
I hope all these rich folks build servant quarters, because no working people will be able to afford to live anywhere near by.
Marie Smith Aug 13th 2006 7:20AM
wow!!! nice if it comes with a maid, butler, cook and chauffeur, a nanny, two mother-in-law suite on opposite ends of the house with around the clock patient care personnel, otherwise I pass, with that much money those people should be able to afford to take care of their parents instead of putting them in a nursing home, I am sure they have parents and children like everybody else, and all they would have to do is supervise the help and their loved ones to make sure they are well taken care of, what good is such a big house without love and caring, it would just be empty and cold with echo like in a church. Those selfish people better pray.
Donna Aug 13th 2006 7:25AM
I love this house. My house looks very similar, but on a much smaller scale. Pink isn't just a color, it's an attitude! It's fun and cheerful!
Wendy Aug 13th 2006 7:36AM
Wow, how you people jump to conclusions! How do you know there is no love and that it is cold? You don't you're just assuming, which we all know what assuming does. It's beautiful and fun looking. Don't hate someone when their hard work pays off. And don't worry, I'm sure you guys will all get out of the trailer park someday!!!

my goodness, i detect a case of the envies on the readers part, i lived in that area for eight years and never seen anything close to the big one, only tropical storms and near misses as to the interior of the pepto palce, not its elegant bright and beachy . its the people and family members that will make it warm and inviting, as for
dismal i think not!
Wanda Aug 13th 2006 7:43AM
A house this large is too much! The money spent on this house is tto muuh also the up keep. The money should have been spent on apts for the homeless, they have no where to call home! THE BIBLE SAYS," EASIER TO GO THRU THE EYE OF A NEEDLE THAN ENTER HEAVEN" When you have this much money, make good use of it-help others not so lucky! If I ever won the lottery-the money would be used to put up housing for people with no homes,it's sad to have no home!Think about it-you may be on top now-but- God can bring you down to the bottom in a second!
Sherrie and Louis LaFemina Aug 13th 2006 7:46AM
Wow, wish I hit the big lottery for that one. I too believe it is overpriced even for Naples, but what a dream house! Thanks for showing it!

The Pink house is beautiful. It represents fun and sun. More of us should have that in our lives. Florida is a wonderful place to live and be. As for love in a large home. Love comes in many packages, and the size of your home has nothing to do with love. I love SPACE, and large homes. I don't believe raising a child in a townhome or suffering as you raise them necessarily makes them smarter kids. I think we should all live in the best places we can and live now, and not assume tomorrow will be better. I had a first born that made a ton of money, was a beautiful girl, and sweet. I assumed she would be here for my things, and would fight over them with her sister. Not to be. We lost her this summer. My point is : Live now, and don't assume you will not outlive your kids. Give to them when you can, and live for now, and don't always save thinking the future is going to be better. Sometimes we go into old age without those kids. So, Buy that pink house and live in it with your children. A "pink house" can be anywhere, and the love inside is what matters. I think big is better!!
Regards

A pretty small kitchen for such a huge house don't you think?. But then again I don't guess the kitchen is too important if your eating out or having all your meals catered!
Donna Sep 10th 2006 1:03AM
This home is beautiful! I love everything about it except that it is in Florida! I can't believe it only has 5 rooms. It looks so huge and would have more rooms than that. The pink is so pretty and it stands out and looks like a cheerful place to be. I agree with Wendy, how can you assume there is no love in that home. With all that money their should be no worries and hardship like us poor folks go through which gives time for more love in my opinion. Everyone looking at this article knows nothing about the people living there so who is to judge. In my opinion RICH folks can love just as much as poor folks and everyone in between. Keep your nose out of their business and focus on that beautiful house. I can image waking up sitting in the living room sorry im not rich and dont use the fancy words... and drinking my coffee looking at that beautiful sky and ocean. What a beautiful dream. The kitchen is great a place I would love to cook in. The "Living room" the swag reminds me of a hurricane and fits in the room beautifully. As im terrified of florida cuz of the storms! Im one Yanky that would never live in florida. As a yanky,,,why is there two fire places? It doesnt get that cold in florida...try -20* now thats cold. lol. Also in the living room I love those french doors with beautiful windows. The bedroom I think is totally ugly...green and pink just doesn't do. It might be the bed spread,,,I do like the soft colors but something about that room just turns me off. Now the outside is just plain old HEAVEN i could live out there. I would be swimming in that pool. The view is breath taking. All I have to say is that this is a Georgeous home I could live their easily. :)
cindy Aug 13th 2006 7:59AM
what a pretty view. this house is great inside and out. i am sure there is enough love in this house. some poeple are just so jealous of what others have.
Jen Aug 13th 2006 7:59AM
I think it's a beautiful home. I agree with Wendy. How do you know that there is no love there?? Love the sherbet colors...just right for the area.
Roxanna Aug 13th 2006 8:01AM
Interesting color choices throughout the estate. I'm a little disappointed in the pool though...I expected something grander. At first, I thought maybe they kept it simple so they didn't detract from the gorgeous view. Then again, with the hot pink color of the outside, I don't think that reasoning stands :o)
