Fur Goes Casual in Fall
Real fur has long been one of the materials of choice for the cool-weather clothes of the well dressed and the well-to-do. Even in the face of protestors, it has retained its elegance and you are guaranteed to see many women in furs out in New York City, for example, in the winter. Juicy Couture is trying to bring fur down a little, judging from the look of their Reversible Fleece Hoodie with Rabbit Fur. The cotton fleece hoodie has a drawstring hood and distressed seams, which contrast with its fur vest lining. Though reversible, even having the soft rabbit fur clearly visible does little for the look. Let's face it: you can't dress up a fleece hoodie no matter how much fur you put into it. The only question is to whether pieces like this one will spark a trend of more casual uses of fur, possibly eliminating a lot of the prestige associated with its use, or not. Price: $650.

This world makes me sick if there was something I could do to change it all I would. There would be no more killing of any animals for food or fur. The tourture and killing of poor dogs and cats and any other animals for the sake of looking good is terrible and the so called designers that buy the fur to the Bastards that do the killing they should all go to Hell for what they do. Animals are beaten, electricuted, drowned, mulated and suffer all for the sake of money. Dogs & Cats are skinned alive in other countries and wild animals suffer to. Think about it all.. Killing animals to look good is wrong and you know it. You people that don't agree with me ,,, well you know what you can do with yourselves!!!! I just wish more could be done on the behalf of all animals of the world. And Stop The Killing!!

OK - Susie Powell -
If we recycle and you wear leather or materials that come from animals killed for food - who do you know that has a nice Sunday Dinner of MINK??? How about Harp Seal?? Fox??? I've never had fox - how is it???These animals are killed STRICTLY for fur - not food. At least people eat cows.
And Devynn - Living at the north pole versus Northern California is a survival thing. We have choices. Why kill an animal for the Opera?? I can understand for WINTER. Give people more credit than that.

Oh, honestly...B, where do you think those videos come from? Do the fur farms just decide to tape them and send them to PETA? Use your common sense, my goodness! And Kristi, I agree with Sam. Calling someone a "retart" makes you look both stupid AND unsympathetic to people with mental disorders. This society is just going to h...oops! And Susan, if you actually LOOKED at everything that PETA doesn't support, you'd notice that wool, silk, honey, milk, PETS, and animal testing that could find the cures for life threatening diseases and birth defects are not acceptable.

I hate PETA, honestly. However, I am STRONGLY against fur being used in clothing. It's absolutely pointless and horrible to kill animals JUST for their fur. There are so many better options out there. High quality faux fur looks SO real- why take a life(many live actually) for fashion? People who wear fur are disgusting and heartless or totally ignorant (as you can also see by some of these comments!). Though I don't agree with extremists either. Just be smart people, stop wearing fur- it's truly horrible!
Additionally, the majority of people I talk to think people wearing real fur are SOOOO trashy. They want to be prestige... meanwhile they are gross. So don't think you're cool by wearing fur because you're SOOOO not!!!!!

I'm with Jennifer, I buy vintage fur. I do refuse to purchase new clothing with fur trim ... what you are getting there is usually dog and cat. I just can't do that...
