Barbarella Sofa
Even though furry accessories are usually more popular during the chilly winter months, the Barbarella sofa looks as though sitting in it would be the equivalent of getting a hug from a teddy bear. They plush sofa is completely upholstered in natural sheepskin, which is available long or short, and could not be softer. It is a low rise couch, so it's great for lounging and watching TV. It is available as a single, double or triple seater and in a loveseat size. The matching ottoman is sold separately. The triple seater, pictured, is $16,348.

How much??? Yikes! I think it would be cheaper to sew a bunch of teddy bears together and just sit on them...ha ha!

l would love this couch if l lived in an igloo, but unfortunately, if l lived in an igloo l wouldn't be able to afford this couch! $16,350?! What's wrong with people?

I Think I would rather ride a sheep....

I have to wonder how matted that would get after a few times of lounging around on it! For $16,348.00 that would be hell to have to brush your couch every day!

It's nice and I'm sure kids would love how soft it is but if you have kids there's no way you could afford it. Even without kids I don't think the average person could afford it!

Just goes to show, all the money in the world CAN"T buy you style

Just a fad. - Won't be around long. - Probably put together like crap. Cost - there crazy
Karen Jul 23rd 2006 8:45AM
And how would you CLEAN this thing? But I guess if you can afford the price, you'd just replace it, lol.
julie Jul 23rd 2006 9:01AM
How dumb it isn't even practical you could never use it because it would get dirty. If you have kids forget it. So really its just to look at.

I cant see paying that much money for a sofa. Unless, you have a grand slamming salary and you are related to Trump. Anyway, I can see a child enjoying its comfort. But, I also see the parent fearing their children spilling a beverage on it. It looks cuddly but how cuddly would you want your sofa to be. Thats why you have a bed for. That is way too expensive. It costs as much as a car. Can you imagine the maintenance fee to keep it clean and spill free. LOL

That just illustrates the point that good taste is always in style, but style is not always in good taste. Thank you for the chuckle: as foolish as the world gets, it's comforting to find some outright criminally stupid moment to make the rest of us feel well-adjusted. Just think, folks. Some idiot actually **bought** that thing!

Living in Phoenix Arizona I am familiar with sheepskin. Most people here use car seat and dashboard covers in their cars because of the extreme heat and UV damage caused by the sun in summer. The property of sheepskin is that it doesn't mat and it doesn't show dirt like normal material does. So all those comments about cleaning and matting are not relevant.
The only real problem is that anyone who could afford to buy a $16,000 couch probably wouldn't want a sheepskin covered couch.

Anyone who would pay $16,000 for any couch must be nuts whether you have tons of money or not.

Funny, if you are crafty you can purchase faux "hair" from the fabric store and sew sections together to make a cover for an old couch. Hmmm, I bet it is ALOT cheaper that way. However, who would want that?? YUCK.
