Burberry Check Shoulder Bag, Handbag of the Day
Since Burberry is trying to remind consumers that there is more to them than their signature "check," keep an eye out for the new ways that they're working their knight logo into designs. This Check Shoulder Bag, for example, has the knight printed on the bag's fabric just beneath the checked print, where consumers can adapt to it without having to give up the plaid cold-turkey. The camel colored bag has PVC and leather trim in chocolate, and the strap has a generous 10" drop. And, for the practically minded, the bag measures in at 13 1/2" x 9 1/2" x 5", with several pockets to keep your various accessories neatly organized. Price: $475.

Ya'll are way to superficial and shallow to put so much energy into a logo on a name brand. you don't want it to chance because you want to look rich and feel important because you were stupid enough to fall for the name brand stigma that society puts on us to make us feel like we are more important then those who can't afford it. when in reality. it is just a logo. Quality doesn't have to be a name brand. a 'check' or a DK. You are led to believe that that is what is cool and popular. What you need to do with that money is invest in some self esteem classes and find your inner beauty because you can't buy it at neiman marcus.
I live in California and see how phony, plastic, self-centered and superficial this makes women especially. you can find happiness with out the 'check'. i have taste and i don't have to be seen with my louie wallet or my tiffany necklace to feel important or to prove i like quality. i think you are wrapped up in the mtv world and the celebrity lives that have nothing to do with you getting an education and a making your own future. Yet you still need to follow them, what is new. the new trend... get a life.... you make me sad. i will pray for you

DARE TO PRINT THIS. I HATE PLAIDS. THAT'S WHY I WON'T BUY ANY BURBERRY. AND I CAN AFFORD IT!

Personally, I think $475 for a bag is a bit much, And I'm not so sure the quality is all it's cracked up to be. I was given a coach bag as a gift once, and it did not hold up as well as I had anticipated, but what really disturbes me more than expensive bags that don't measure up is this comment made in another post...
"If Oprah's "debt" show has relevance to your life, cool, watch it. Most people buying Burberry don't have money issues. They have quality issues... and good taste!
If you belive this to be true, you have your head in the sand. MANY, MANY people in this country who buy things like Burbery bags, and Mercedes Benz cars simply, cannot afford to. They do simply because they think it will somehow make them special, and they are trying to keep up with the Jones', (who, by the way are broke too) and they are maxed out on credit cards, second mortgages, and everything else. As well as living paycheck to paycheck, and will not have enough money to retire on. Madison Avenue has most of us dupped into the buy, buy, buy mentality. Belive me when I say, that the rich guy next store is not living lifestyles of the rich and famous it's true. You would be amazed at how simple most wealthy people live. When I say wealthy, I don't mean Donald trump, but the guy who lives on your street with a million in the bank now. Do you think that Oprah did that special on debt diet because it is not an epidemic in this country? Wrong it is, a very sad reality, and I wish more people would grasp hold of that reality. People, save for your retirement. If you are not a millionaire, skip the $475 bag, and put it into a 401k!

Those of you who choose to own a $10 bag instead of a $1,000 bag obviously have never own a true designer bag. I have bags from 10+ years ago that still look brand new. That's the difference.....the durablily and the quality. Just as I would never buy a KIA or HYANDAI just because it's cheap!

I bought a purse at Walmart about 5 yrs. ago and it's still going strong and looks great. I have used other purses for a while but always go back to my $7.00 REAL leather purse. I also own an authentic Burberry blazer which I absolutely love, but it doesn't have the famous plaid anywhere. That means that I have a high-quality, beautifully-made, luxurious-feeling blazer that i truly enjoy wearing, even though no one knows who made it. By the way, the blazer also cost about $7.00. My middle-school aged son saw how much I loved it while we were looking for Halloween costumes at a thrift shop, and bought it for me for Christmas. The point is, you don't have to pay a fortune for quality, and you can choose designer products without have to be pretentious about it.

Burberry and Coach bags are expensive bags. last long time but I agree with the person who said, Go to the nearest flee market.
Donna Jul 19th 2006 7:46PM
Burberry (from Eng)hmm ok, but is it just like Liz Claiborne, or many other (top) name brands made in underdeveloped countries? Why not buy American brands. Don't let your taste just be in your mouth.
Cjae Jul 19th 2006 7:56PM
Burberry,Louis Vuitton, and all of the other designer names are a joke.Do you recognize that most of these designers are made rich, absolutely rich by your foolishness. Why in heaven are you paying $475 for a purse,I dont care how big it is...and to boot its vinyl come girls surely you can find other things to purchase with the change.I used to be into designer jeans "Jordache,Jesse, Sasoon and the other very tight ones and I realized that all I was, was free advertisement for their garments. Check it out, it costs money to advertise in a magazine, why would I do it after I paid for the jeans too, now the advertisement is on my butt FOR FREE! No way I quit buying and advertising for free. Most of you need that money to pay your bills anyway. But you are paying all of these designers bills and then some. Their cars and fabulous homes .....paid for by you ! What does your home look like, what kind of car do you drive? WAKE UP

how i dislike this awful plaid. i remember very well the times when burberry was the typical brand for the bourgeoisie in europe. no matter who ever will model for them (even if it is k. moss) to me it will always be the brand for dusty old frumps.
