As intriguing as the
Hangover-proof vodka that Deidre mentioned last week sounded, I think that I like the sound of
44°North Vodka better. It is an ultra-premium, five-column distilled potato vodka made in Idaho. The distillation method and the Rocky Mountain spring water used to make the vodka leave it with
a super-smooth finish. The best, and certainly the most unique, aspect of the vodka is the fact that it is flavored with huckleberries, giving it a light, fruity taste that makes fantastic cocktails.
$29 for 750ml.

Potatoe vodka?! No... The best vodka is grain-whisky!

Mary, potatoes are what vodka was originally made from. They impart more flavor onto the spirit than grains do. Try Ciroc sometime, it's distilled from grapes and is actually quite a clean finishing vodka.

Is it me or the name is a ripoff of New Zealand vodka 42 below (http://www.42below.co.nz) ? or should all vodkas be named after their geographic location?

I have had several conversationsd with Geoff Ross at 42 Below. He is a nice guy who had an interest in my product called the Ice Jacket. It is designed to encase a manufacturer's bottle in ice for presentation and service (www.icejacket.com). I was not far along enough to make the deal happen but now am, although the opportunity with 42 Below has passed. Does anyone know who to reach at 44 North?
